    President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared September 7 and 21 as non-working holidays.

    September 7, 2009 – GMA declared it as National Day of Mourning. It will also be the burial day for the INC’s beloved Eraño “Ka Erdy” Manalo.

    Semptember 21, 2009 – the Muslim Filipinos will be marking Eid’l Fitr, or the end of holy month of fasting, Ramadan.
