Airspeed, a leading logistics provider in the Philippines, is proud to announce its membership in the Environmental Protection and Rehabilitation (EPR) program under the Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS), Inc.
As part of its commitment to championing end-to-end logistics services in the country, Airspeed has aligned its business practices and strategy to support society’s development needs, focusing on projects that positively impact environmental, social, and economic aspects. Sustainability is not just a buzzword for Airspeed; it’s a foundation of its business practice.
Airspeed’s five-year plan includes retrofitting to smart energy, which the company has started to implement in its selected facilities. Moreover, Airspeed aims to reduce its carbon footprint by adopting route optimization planning in its deliveries. Sustainable logistics practices include using shredded carton packaging instead of bubble sheets. Airspeed is revamping packaging materials and replacing 75% of its bubble sheet consumption with shredded carton packaging. Despite the challenges, they are making it happen for the environment.
As a result of its commitment to sustainability, Airspeed was awarded an EPR membership certificate under PARMS, Inc. in 2024. This membership is a testament to Airspeed’s dedication to reducing plastic waste and promoting recycling practices.
Addition of Electric Trucks to Airspeed Fleet
This year, Airspeed introduced electric trucks and motorcycles (available in Metro Manila) to its fleet, reducing its reliance on fossil fuels. These environmentally friendly vehicles benefit the environment and provide cost-effective solutions for daily operations.
Making It Happen for the Environment
With its commitment to fighting climate change and making it happen for the environment, Airspeed has taken several initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint. The company takes part in annual coastal clean-up campaigns and tree-planting initiatives, collaborating with volunteers and residents to clear coastal areas and eliminate plastic waste for a greener Philippines.
To ensure that partners will adhere to the practices and solidify their commitment to sustainable logistics, Airspeed aims to execute the sustainable sourcing policy by 2025 and have solar-powered buildings and warehouses by 2026.
With its dedication to making it happen for its stakeholders, Airspeed also ensures a greener and more sustainable future for the communities it empowers, the businesses it builds, and the lives it nurtures. Visit www.airspeed.ph or send an email to [email protected].
