“The Little Mermaid,” tells the story of Ariel, a beautiful and adventurous young mermaid who longs to explore the world beyond the sea. As the youngest and most rebellious daughter of King Triton, she becomes infatuated with Prince Eric during a visit to the surface. However, mermaids are forbidden from interacting with humans, forcing Ariel to follow her heart. In her pursuit of happiness, she strikes a deal with the treacherous sea witch, Ursula, jeopardizing not only her own life but also her father’s kingdom.
The film features a talented cast, including Halle Bailey as Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Tony Award-winner Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina, Art Malik as Sir Grimsby, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula.
