Being part of the sandwich generation can be a difficult and overwhelming experience. These individuals find themselves juggling the responsibilities of caring for both their aging parents and their own young family simultaneously. It can lead to feelings of stress, guilt, and exhaustion.

However, it’s important to remember that taking care of yourself is just as crucial as taking care of others. It’s essential to prioritize self-care and make time for yourself to recharge and maintain your mental and physical health. This can be done through activities such as exercise, reading, meditation, or simply taking a break from the daily routine.

    Make Time for Me-Time

AXA Philippines, through its “Make Time for Me-Time” campaign, recognizes the challenges faced by the sandwich generation and seeks to support their pursuit of holistic health.

With this in mind, AXA Philippines hosted a two-day event “AXA Make Time for Me-Time Retreat”, inviting bloggers and media to attend. The retreat was carefully crafted to promote holistic health through a variety of curated activities designed to help individuals prioritize self-care.

Media guests kickoff the two-day AXA Make Time for Me-Time Retreat which was filled with curated activities that were designed to help achieve holistic health.

Drawing mandalas as a form of art therapy reduces anxiety, tension, and overall stress. It boosts creativity and releases stress.

During the 2-day Make Time for Me-Time Retreat, I realized how important to #MakeTimeForMeTime to refresh and recover.
You heal and evolve as a person when you take time for yourself, so you’re a better parent, partner, child, or friend. In order to be the best version of yourself, you need time for rest, recreation, and reflection.

Here are some benefits of prioritizing self-care:

Emotional Impact on Loved Ones: Your emotions can easily affect those around you. By prioritizing your own mental and emotional health, you can radiate positivity and create a happier environment for those close to you.

Mental Space for Happiness: Taking breaks and allowing yourself to rest can improve your capacity for happiness and enjoyment in life. When you’re overworked and stressed, it’s difficult to find joy in leisure activities.

Treating Rest as a Necessity: Pleasing everyone around you can result in sacrificing your own “me-time”. However, it’s important to prioritize rest and self-care to avoid burnout and keep your body and mind functioning optimally.

Physical Health: Excessive stress can weaken the immune system and invite illness. By listening to your body’s signals and taking breaks when needed, you can maintain good physical health and prevent burnout.

In conclusion, putting yourself first is crucial for overall health and well-being. By prioritizing self-care and rest, you can improve your emotional, mental, and physical state, and better support those around you.

AXA Philippines: A Partner in Improving Your Emotional, Mental, and Physical Well-being.

Choosing self-care can sometimes bring feelings of guilt, but it’s essential to prioritize one’s own well-being to better care for loved ones, according to Nandy Villar, AXA Philippines Chief Marketing Officer.

To be worry-free in 2023, you need a partner who can help you feel safe. AXA Health Care Access is a comprehensive health insurance plan that covers all potential healthcare needs, from prevention and diagnosis to hospitalization and treatments. Select plans even include teleconsultation and mental health services, to truly cover your holistic well-being.

AXA Philippines also has health plans that cover exams to diagnose critical illnesses that must be dealt with immediately. AXA’s Health Start plan covers critical illnesses, including cancers that affect women. This is especially favorable for mothers because they can also choose to share the coverage with their children. AXA also has other health insurance options, such as the Health Start Lite plan. This already covers the top three critical illnesses, namely cancer, stroke, and heart attack, as well as nine minor critical illnesses to which women may be predisposed.

AXA also offers Global Health Access, a health plan which offers best-in-class global health coverage of up to PHP 100 million and comprises the diagnosis and prevention of illnesses through extensive medical checks and outpatient benefits, cancer coverage, reimbursement supplements, as well as cash benefits for pregnant women.

Taking care of your family entails taking care of yourself as well. Making time for me-time is an essential component of self-care and overall health and well-being. With an AXA health insurance plan, you can also be financially healthy and have an additional layer of security against health issues, allowing you to truly enjoy having time for yourself and your family as you move forward in life this year.
