Casa Lina: A Riverside Adventure Resort in San Rafael Bulacan

We’ve all been through a lot during the pandemic and with my mom getting diagnosed with cancer I think it’s time to give ourselves a break and take a well-deserved getaway. I’m thinking of somewhere nice and quiet, away from the busy city and pollution. My search led me to a private resort in Maronquillo San Rafael Bulacan, the Casa Lina Riverside Adventure Resort.

I find this to be perfect for a quick getaway because it’s only a short drive from our house in North Caloocan. It only took us 1 ½ hour to get there. Less time on the road means we get more time to enjoy the activities in the Resort. It may just be a short drive from the city but the resort is surrounded by nature and has a peaceful vibe that makes you feel like you’ve been transported miles and miles away.

We were welcomed by the staff as soon as we arrived at the Casa Lina Riverside Adventure Resort. There were 10 people in our group 8 adults and 2 kids. It was a family trip with my parents and my in-laws.  The resort offers a bungalow that can accommodate a maximum of 15 people which makes it great for family trips or bonding with friends.

There are 3 air-conditioned bedrooms in the bungalow we stayed in. All had bathrooms in them plus one extra bathroom in the common area near the kitchen. The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed and a sofa bed in it while the other two bedrooms both have a queen-sized bed and a bunk bed in them. For those who love hot showers, you’d be happy to know that the bathrooms in these rooms are equipped with hot and cold showers.

The living room is also quite interesting with its quirky neon sign and instagrammable look.  It’s also quite cozy and fun with comfortable seating and videoke set up. If we’re not in the pool you’ll find us in the living room singing our hearts out.

Head to the kitchen and there you’ll find large wooden tables that give the area a rural or rustic vibe. In contrast to the concrete wall and beams plus the hanging lights that have a bit of an industrial feel to them. The small kitchen is equipped with basic cookware and dinnerware to feed your party.  It also has a fridge so you can bring raw ingredients and store them properly until they’re ready for cooking. There’s also an induction stove, microwave oven, and water dispenser. And if you want to grill outside, there’s a grill.

As for entertainment,  there are loads of it in the bungalow. You’ve got the basic TV and wi-fi, we’ve already mentioned the videoke, and there’s the billiards table. The last time I played billiards was back in high school so this kinda feels nostalgic.  It was fun trying my hand at it again and my daughter Sam found it interesting enough to give it a try. But of course, we didn’t drive all the way here for just indoor entertainment.

A lot of things to do outdoors at Casa Lina Riverside Adventure Resort.

The first stop is the swimming pool. The water and its surroundings alone are already refreshing to your senses. You’ve got trees and shrubs providing a nice cover and privacy for the pool area. The pool also overlooks the river so you also enjoy an expanse of view while having a dip. It starts shallow but goes up to 8 feet deep on the other end. Sam just loves the pool and you need your persuasive powers to get her out of it. It’s definitely her favorite place in the resort. As for the water temperature, this would depend on the time of the day. Warm in the late morning til afternoon and gets cold in the evening.

The following morning we checked out the water activities in the Resort. They’ve got kayaking and jet skiing available. My brother-in-law tried the kayak ride while we opted to sit around and simply enjoy the view.

We didn’t get to try the jetski because there were ongoing renovations. Lots of improvements are underway to make the place more attractive so it looks like we’re going for a second visit.

Casa Lina Riverside Adventure Resort is a nice place to go for quick getaways and simply enjoy time with family or friends. The staff are nice and accommodating. We forgot to bring some of our fresh ingredients like garlic, onion, etc. and one of them volunteered to buy them. More than the nice amenities and staff, our best takeaway is feeling relaxed and de-stressed after the trip.
