MANILA, OCTOBER 2020 – TikTok announced on the platform the winners of #TikTokU (2nd Sem) last September 27, 2020, as part of its continuous initiative to promote in-app learning. Educational content poured in as entries for the second phase of #TikTokU, which garnered a total of 2.1B views since its successful run in the first half of 2020.

TikTokU (2nd Sem) kicked off the search for a new wave of content creators on September 1, 2020, to bring more quality learning-driven content to the platform. The campaign covered a diverse variety of categories which were identified through seven (7) tracks: Education, Cooking, Fashion, Art, Talent (excludes dance tutorials), Sports & Fitness, and Occupation.

Bagging the top prize for each category were the following creators:

@kilimanguru won for #EdukasyongPinoy (Education), which covered DIY & life hacks, motivational content, advice, educational content, and tutorials.

Phase 1 of the campaign, launched last May 2020, paved the way for learning and educational content on the platform. Among the top winners of the TikTok Phase 1 Senior Scholarship Award were TikTok creators Arshie Larga, Lyqa Maravilla, and Show Suzuki. Each of them created a variety of educational content, which was truly embraced by the learning community.

As a leading digital platform, TikTok believes in taking an active role in supporting the community. Being able to provide another channel for educational content is one vital way of doing so. With the app’s user-centric design, anyone can effortlessly produce educational content that is creative, inspiring and effective. Powered by top-notch machine-learning technologies, the app’s easy-to-use video capturing and editing tools instantly transform smartphones into powerful tools for teaching and sharing knowledge.

Learning continues on TikTok! Share your knowledge to the world with #TikTokU by downloading TikTok on your iOS and Android devices.
