June 26 was declared as a holiday in the Philippines so we took it as an opportunity for a staycation at the Okada Hotel Manila. It wasn’t my first time at the Okada Manila, I already went there with my mom to check out their casino but this time I am going there for a hotel experience with my family.
We arrived at the hotel before 2:00pm last June 26, 2017. The hotel staff was quick to assist us as we went through their strict security protocol. All our bags had to go through the x-ray machine just like in an airport entrance. After the check-in process we were escorted our room at #826. It was a Deluxe Twin room with a fountain view. The room looked really nice at it came with the following amenities:
- Feather Bed Components
- 100% Cotton Bed Linens and Terry
- Walk-in Closet
- Automated Personal Mini-bar
- In-room Safe
- Bathroom Amenities by Roberto Cavalli
- Jacuzzi
- Spacious Bathroom
- Intelligent Toilet Bowl
- Hairdryer
- Weighing Scale
- Coffee making facilities
- DigiValet Service (an iPad based guest room solution used for room controls)
As frequent travellers, our family has stayed in several hotels in different parts of the country already. The Okada Hotel Manila is definitely on top of my list of favourites right now. Their spacious Deluxe Room spans around 60 to 74 square meters which is comparable to a Suite in other hotels. The room also has a gorgeous and luxurious feel that simply says first class. I love the pink room color that gives a soft feminine vibe and a very welcoming feel. Some might say that pink is a girly color but I love it in this room.
Guests will also appreciate the use of modern technology in Okada Hotel rooms. You can use the iPad assigned to your room for adjusting room temperature and lighting as well as a remote control for the TV. Plus, all the light switches in the room are operated with touch screen controls.
Even the bathroom has its own techie features. You can flush, wash, or dry yourself with just a press of a button.
One can also appreciate the overall look and feel of the bathroom especially when you consider that all the amenities were designed by none other than Roberto Cavalli. Mr. Cavalli is a renowned Italian fashion designer and inventor. I also loved the fragrances that they used for the bathroom. I’m really impressed with the pampered and luxurious feel that you get when you enter the bathroom.
Okada Manila is located within the Entertainment City in Paranaque, Manila. This means that you have plenty of leisure and entertainment options during your stay. However, we chose to explore the in-house facilities of the hotel instead of going out. My daughter Sam wanted to check out their pool but it wasn’t ready for use just yet. Fortunately we had our own Jacuzzi in the room so Sam got a new thrill and enjoyed herself in the tub.
Okada Manila is also known for having the largest multi-colored dancing water fountain in the world. Another benefit of having a room with a fountain view is that you can watch the shows in luxurious comfort. We watched the fountain show from our room window first and then decided to go down to where the action is. It was an amazing show of lights, music, and fountain exhibition that we all enjoyed. Fountain shows are open to the public so if you want to experience it too here are the show schedules.
Okada Manila’s The Fountain Show schedules:
Friday – Saturday: every half hour starting at 6:00 pm to 12:00 am.
Sunday – Thursday: every half hour starting 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm
We also noticed that there were plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around the fountain area. Familiar spots like the TWG, Mary Grace, and French Baker quickly caught my eye along with other dining places. I’m pretty sure that there will be more dining options in the future when the resort is fully opened. As of now, only a small part of the resort has been opened to the public.
We really enjoyed our short stay at Okada Manila. Nobody wanted to leave the hotel the following day, but since our holiday has ended reluctantly said goodbye to our luxurious accommodations. It was really a well spent holiday at the Okada because of all the comforts and the wonderful amenities that we enjoyed. We will definitely be back at the Okada once it is completed. The rate for our overnight stay was around P12,000 plus tax and I can say that with everything that we experienced, it was really worth it.
