Zest Air now flies from Manila to Kota Kinabalu

Exploring New Destinations for Less

There are very few people I know who do not love travelling. With a chance to travel for less, it becomes more of a challenge to hold yourself back from clicking that buy now button on the online travel voucher. When I was invited to be part of Zest Air’s inaugural flight Manila to Kota Kinabalu, it did not take me long to get my bags packed. We flew on flight Z2501 with other travel and lifestyle bloggers and Apo Hiking Society’s Jim Paredes and his wife Lydia. This maiden flight marks another milestone in this value airline’s bid for expansion. Other flight destinations in this month’s launch include Kuala Lumpur and Bacolod.

It was an early morning flight that took us to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malasya where tropical islands and rainforests awaited its passengers. These and other natural tourist attractions are what hundreds of thousands of Filipinos go to Malaysia to visit. Tourism authorities in Malaysia expressed their delight at the new flights of Zest Air to key destinations as Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. This move of Zest Air coincides with Malaysia’s current promotional campaign for Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) which is set to happen in 2014. “I am confident that this enhanced connectivity will be able to boost tourist arrivals from the Philippines to Malaysia,” said Tourism Malaysia Director Fazdila Mansor.

There are a lot of sights to see and activities to do in Malaysia. The daily flights to Kuala Lumpur takes tourists to the world famous Petronas Twin Towers as well as Malaysia’s thriving commercial district. The Kota Kinabalu flight, in contrast, takes tourists on a nature adventure through lush forests, exciting wildlife adventures, and pristine beaches. You can climb up to Mount Kinabalu, known as Southeast Asia’s highest peak, and revel at the wondrous sight below. These two locations in Malaysia provide two different yet equally enjoyable vacation destinations for tourists. Zest Air can take you to Kuala Lumpur in any of their daily flights. Kota Kinabalu flights, on the other hand, are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Zest Air’s flight schedule for Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur and Bacolod:
