Getting Fit on the Right Track with Fit ‘N Right

beforeWhen I quit my job a year ago and concentrate on being a full time blogger, I have noticed that I’m gaining more and more weight. Since all I do is sit down and face my computer the whole day, take a cat nap when my system can no longer bear being awake – which means I don’t get enough sleep, as well, I have noticed that my body is getting a little bit wider every single day of my blogging life.

At first, it didn’t bother me at all because I was thinking that I don’t need to be “sexy” anymore since I’m already married to a handsome man and I don’t think my being “chubby” will bother him either – because he gained much weight also, just like me; and I’m glad I was right! He doesn’t care if I’m changing my “preferences” from medium-sized shirts and blouses to XL sizes because he changes his preferences, too!

    after

In addition to that, I always think that I don’t need to have a fit body and look gorgeously awesome, since I’m not obliged to face and entertain customers and other people anymore, just like what I used to do as a customer representative of the company where I used to work before I left my job.

But these reasons seem useless and nonsense every time I attend certain events, especially blogging-related events where I am invited. I’m not that self conscious, if that’s what you think; it’s just that I can’t help thinking, “what if I still have that not-too-sexy -but not-chubby figure that I used to have?” ; when this line of thinking enters my head, I suddenly felt ashamed of my present unhealthy figure.

That is why, when I was invited in an event for bloggers last October 23, 2009 at Taste Asia, in SM Mall of Asia, which was sponsored by Del Monte, I excitedly attended the event when I was informed that the main topic of the occasion was to help everybody, especially the bloggers to get back in shape with the company’s campaign dubbed as Del Monte Dare to be Fit ‘N Right.

During the launching event, where sports scientist and master coach Jim Saret shared to us that one person is physically fit or in great physical condition, if he can do the following:

    • bench press 1-1/2 times his body weight (upper body strength)
    • run a mile and a half in 10 minutes(lower body cardiovascular fitness)
    • touch the rim of the basketball ring (lower body power)
    • leg-press 2-1/4 times his body weight (lower body strength)
    • Swim 700 yards in 12 minutes (upper body aerobic endurance)
    • do 40 push-ups (upper body muscle endurance)
    • touch his toes (flexibility)

Coach also discussed on how to burn more calories with the 4-minute workout through what he called the Fast Intense Training (FIT). The F.I.T Workout or the Fast Interval Training is a four-minute workout that makes you burn at least 400 calories and continues to burn even when you’re done with the workout! Plus, you don’t have to be a gym buff to enjoy the workout. It doesn’t require much space and equipment. It’s scientific, very visual, designed for non-athletes, with measurable results and it’s easy!

Coach Jim Saret also added that exercise will only be effective and working when paired with healthy balanced diet, just like having the Fit ‘N Right products as your routine snack.

    FnR FS Mixed Fruits

Del Monte Fit ‘N Right contains the breakthrough L-Carnitine that helps burn fat and B Vitamis 1, 6, 12 that help speed up metabolism.

L-Carnitine is a natural substance that is occurring in the body but can be supplemented for optimal health. It transports the fatty acids into the mitochondria, the “cell’s powerhouse” where they are burned into energy needed for a healthy heart, important body functions and physical activities. Supplementary L-Carnitine contributes to optimal fat oxidation, and along with a proper diet and regular exercise, promotes healthy body weight.

A clinical study done by the University of the Philippines through Dra. Leonora Panlasigui and company has proven the effectiveness of Fit ‘n Right. In that study, it was found that one can lose as such as 16.7% body fat in just 6 weeks with regular consumption of Fit ‘n Right, diet and exercise. There are studies that indicate that 1000mg per day is ideal in helping you lose weight along with proper diet and regular exercise. Each Fit ‘n Right bottle contains 300mg and the recommended daily intake is at least 3 bottles, at least 2 hours before exercise or physical activity to maximize the fat-burning benefit.

B Vitamins 1, 6 and 12 are known as energy boosters and they help reduce fatigue and increase endurance by facilitating conversion of carbohydrates, protein and fat into energy. With L-Carnitine, B Vitamins can optimize metabolization of carbohydrates, protein and fat into energy.

Because of that lecture and actual workout during the event, I have already decided, and told myself with conviction, that I should start living a healthy lifestyle, not just for physical reasons, but to make my well being internally fit and healthy and I will tag my husband, too, whether he’ll like it or not; and my first step to realize this plan and prove to myself that I am serious when it comes to my overall health, is to join the Fun Run hosted by Del Monte which will commence on November 22, 2009.

    Fun Run

For those who are interested to join the fun run, registration is only P300 for the 3K, 5K, 10K men’s and women’s divisions and you get freebies like race packet with the Dare to Fit ‘N Right Fun Run singlet, race bib and Fit ‘N Right products. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.

Registration is on November 16, 2009 at the following venues:

    * CEMG Office – Unit 3A Vernida I Bldg., Amorsolo St., Legaspi Village, Makati City/ Look for Marianne Tapales (892.5842/09155498282)
    * Dare to be Fit ‘N Right booths in selected SM Hypermarkets: Mall of Asia, Sucat, Pasig, and North EDSA and at the Del Monte Office on Bldg. 3., Bonifacio High Street.
    * Fitness First branches

Or you may register online at http://www.runningmate.ph/del_monte

Official call time on November 22 is 4 a.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. So, are you ready to get fit and right like me and my husband?

Yes, indeed blogging sort of forces us to a sedentary lifestyle plus blogger events like food events do pack on the pounds if we’re not that conscious. I too have decided since that event at Taste Asia and I’m glad you and your husband has joined in the program.

      Cheers and God bless! =]

it is really hard to lose weight especially with OUR kind of lifestyle – blogging, attending food tasting events, just sitting down, sleeping, potato couching, and the list goes on… at least, del monte is here to help us. my friend told me I should avoid fatty foods and concentrate on fruits and juices. well, that is where fit ‘n right gets in the way. good luck to us!
