Information technology (IT) skills are now made more accessible to underbanked Filipinos. This is after top-rated consumer finance app BillEase announced a partnership with ed-tech company GoIT .

Founded in 2016, GoIT is an international edtech company that has been providing IT education in 30+ countries online with branches in Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, Mexico, the USA, and the Philippines.

In the local setting, GoIT is dedicated to helping Filipinos jumpstart their tech journey. Its beginner-friendly online courses equip learners with data skills to create modern websites and applications and start a career in tech. GoIT uses a project-based learning approach, ensuring that their learners acquire hands-on experience and practical skills. The learning process is divided into 70% practice, 20% feedback, and 10% theory, enabling students to build their portfolios, contribute to team projects, and excel in individual tasks.

Upon completing their studies, learners are awarded a Diploma of Completion, which serves as tangible proof of their newly acquired skills and knowledge. 89% of GoIT learners find a new job within six (6) months after graduation. With the average starting salary for IT jobs in the Philippines at P60,000, a career in technology offers promising growth opportunities.

Through this partnership, BillEase will empower underserved Filipinos to access GoIT’s comprehensive IT courses, training, and webinars at flexible financing options, allowing them to thrive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

“The partnership between BillEase and GoIT is a significant milestone in our mission to democratize access to high-quality IT education for Filipinos,” said Georg Steiger, CEO and Co-founder of BillEase. “We believe that by offering flexible financing options, we can empower more individuals to pursue their dreams in the technology sector, regardless of their financial background.”

Khrystyna Gankevych, Head of Growth at GoIT expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are excited to work with BillEase to help more Filipinos gain access to our IT courses and accelerate their careers in technology. Together, we can create a more inclusive digital ecosystem that benefits everyone.”

This partnership between BillEase and GoIT aims to address the skills gap in the Philippines and adapt to the employment landscape that has been undergoing a wave of changes. In 2020, the Philippine Institute for Developing Studies (PIDS) reported that tech skills such as web develpment remain underdeveloped among the Philippine workforce.
