“Restore our Earth”, the Earth Day theme for 2021 calls for everyone to work together and make our planet cleaner, greener, and more sustainable. We have already seen the devastating effects of climate change and it’s only going to get worse if we don’t start making lifestyle changes. It doesn’t have to be drastic, you can start to live and shop green by making eco-friendly choices in the products you buy. Here are some small ways on how we can contribute to a greener and cleaner planet through our shopping choices.
Use eco-bags. Single-use plastic is the biggest cause of pollution on the planet. This is why some LGUs have banned or at least imposed tariffs on the use of plastic bags. You can help reduce pollution by simply using eco-bags when you shop.
Choose eco-friendly products. These are products that are produced, used, and disposed without harming the environment. Unfortunately, it can be a challenge to find products with 0 impact on the environment in shopping aisles. The next best thing that we can do is shop for those with the least impact on the environment. Examples of these are products made from natural ingredients, sustainably sourced, and produced responsibly. There are well-known brands that have taken steps towards environmental sustainability to help you live and shop green today.
Start switching to green alternatives now. Some of us already have trusted brands or products that we patronize and may be hesitant to switch to another product. It’s good if your brand is already employing sustainable and eco-friendly practices. But if not, you’ve got to seriously consider a switch, especially with personal care products. Eco-friendly products make use of natural ingredients that are safer and gentler for you.
