I have always been a supporter of World Vision ever since I took part in the Bloggers Vision Trip last 2012. We had an up close and personal look at the life of some World Vision scholars and met their families. It was a very humbling experience that I remember clearly until now. Seeing the impact of World Vision projects to the lives of these scholars made me want to contribute to the cause in any way I can. This is why I immediately said yes to the See the World campaign invite from AirAsia.
This Christmas season, AirAsia and World Vision invites you to extend your hand in helping children fulfil their dreams through a joint initiative called “See the World”. The objective of this campaign is to build awareness on the plight of underprivileged children and raise funds to help them. See the World would like to raise at least one million pesos for a sponsorship program that goes direct to child beneficiaries across the country. AirAsia’s commitment to the campaign is to automatically donate five pesos to the cause for every AirAsia seat booked or sold in the Philippines from December 1 to 31 2017.
AirAsia Regional Chief Operating Officer Pete Chareonwongsak said, “The collaboration between AirAsia and World Vision represents another step forward in our commitment to the philosophy that no corporation can live apart from the community it serves. As a truly Filipino airline, we will always extend a helping hand to the communities we serve.”
“AirAsia as a global brand is honored to partner with an international relief, development and advocacy organization as we both share the same commitment and passion in helping communities especially children see the wonders of the world through sponsorship programs in education.”
You can take part in this campaign by choosing to book at AirAsia Philippines for your trips this holiday season. Another way to help is by sharing the See the World campaign and encouraging others to take part in it. Aside from raising funds, the See the World campaign also aims to inspire change in impoverished communities. This will be done by featuring success stories of children whose lives have changed and caused other children to aspire for better living conditions.
World Vision Philippines National Director Rommel Fuerte, meanwhile, said, “As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of World Vision here in the Philippines, we are very thankful to have this milestone partnership with AirAsia Philippines. With this significant initiative, we can ensure that every peso that will be donated to World Vision will help a lot of underprivileged Filipino children attain their dreams.”
“Christmas in the Philippines is very much celebrated and being involved in this exciting project is truly a gift that enables us to reach out and help as many children as we can.”
The campaign was launched last November 18, 2017 at the H2O Hotel. World Vision Philippines ambassadors Christian Bautista, Quest and radio DJ and host Gelli Victor were present in the event along with executives of Air Asia Philippines and World Vision Philippines. After the smooth take-off, let us now “See the World” together this Christmas and work towards a shared vision of a better life for our underprivileged children
