Summer in the Philippines has becoming a little bit unbearable when it comes to the elevated temperature that is giving us a scorching heat every day. Despite this, nothing can stop the tradition of Filipino people of doing family activities together during summer. This is the perfect time to be with our families and do a lot of fun activities for all the members of the family especially that kids are on their vacation from classes.
As a mom, I always wanted to give something refreshing for my daughter, and to my husband also…something to cool them down, but I also wanted Sam to join me, so that even at her young age, she will still be able to participate in preparing summer coolers for our family. With this, I know that she enjoys our bonding moments together in the kitchen, while training her to be responsible and independent at the same time – this is our own version of #PrimeSummer experience!
Now let’s go back to the “Summer Coolers” that I am talking about. I decided to try out the Mega Corn Ice Pops and Mega Prime Sweet Corn Smoothies. I can say that Sam and Montch really love these two cooling refreshments among others that I already prepared for them.
Mega Prime Corn Ice Pops
Ingredients:
¼ cup of water
1 pack plain gelatin
½ cup condensed milk
½ coconut cream
1 can Mega Prime Cream Style Corn
Procedure:
1. In a pot, bloom 1 pack of gelatin using ¼ cup of water. Mix well until gelatin granules are dissolved.
2. Heat the dissolved gelatin mixture using Induction Stove and pour in the rest of the ingredients: condensed milk, coconut cream and Mega Prime Cream Style Corn.
3. Mix well and let it simmer.
4. Remove pot from the stove and let it cool for a few minutes.
5. Pour mixture into ice pops maker. Freeze overnight.
6. Serve and enjoy!
Mega Prime Sweet Corn Smoothies
Ingredients:
- 1 can Mega Prime Cream Style Corn
- 1 can Mega Prime Whole Kernel Corn
- 1/2 cup fresh milk
- 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsps. sugar
- 2 tbsps. honey
- 3 cupes crushed ice
Procedure:
- In a blender, add all the ingredients, and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a glass or tumbler and sprinkle Mega Prime Corn Kernel on top.
- Serve immediately.
