HOOQ Offers More Cartoons, Family-friendly Shows #KIDSONHOOQ

I was very excited, especially for Sam, when we were invited to a pre-Halloween event hosted by HOOQ. We were informed that the kids that will be attending this SpHOOQtacular event are encouraged to wear their Sp-HOOQ-iest costume. Of course, as a frugal mom, I raided Sam’s old clothes, picked an old dress then ripped and slashed it here and there then added a food color to make her looked like a scary doll – here she is!

Since it was a Halloween-themed event, I was expecting a trick or treat, but then Sam and I had a great time as the event was all treat and no trick! It was filled with games, sweets, and entertainment for the kids and the kids-at-heart to enjoy.

HOOQ is the first in Asia to offer premium video-on-demand service. It is a start-up venture of Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros on January 2015. It brings more than 10, 000 Hollywood, regional and local movies, as well as, TV shows to subscribers anytime and anywhere! This is possible because HOOQ allows the customers to stream and download from their tablets, mobile phones and other platforms of choice as long as it can connect to the internet.

Last October 21, 2016, HOOQ Hangouts, in cooperation with Samsung, and Globe Live, prepared something for the #KIDSONHOOQ as they celebrated the third HOOQ HANGOUTS – the “SP-HOOQ-TACULAR”. It was the biggest outdoor cinema event series held at the Globe Iconic Store in Bonifacio Global City and a lot of kids in their spookiest costume were invited to have fun. They watched Monster House, a horror-comedy animated film. The cinema used massive LED screens, beanbags, blankets and cushions to let the kids fully enjoy the movie.

I was amazed as Sam was intently watching the movie although it’s a bit scary for her.

HOOQ made a new partnership with Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Kids Like Us, Hasbro, Turner and MoMedia as part of their continued efforts to provide child-friendly entertainment. In fact, HOOQ is set to triple its library of child-friendly content in the last quarter of this year, 2016. Subscribers can watch TV Series the same day as the US, like Supergirl, as well as, other Filipino content as they are expanding their library to contain more than 500 hours of kids’ content in the coming weeks. Kids can expect to watch animated series like SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go!, PAW Patrol, Littlest Pet Shop, My Little Pony and Mr Bean, among others. Those who love HI-5 and iCarly will also be able to watch previous episodes.

“We are well aware that home viewing among young families is largely driven by children, and this addition of this huge chunk of family friendly content truly makes HOOQ a video service that caters to everyone whether they are looking for Hollywood, local content for themselves, or something fun that the kids can watch. Now every member of the family can enjoy their own favorites across multiple devices at anytime,” adds Cruz-Walker.

“HOOQ’s continued efforts to widen their library of content means our customers will get to enjoy more content perfect for the whole family. The addition for more kid-friendly titles means kids will be able to fully enjoy their mobile experience through entertaining and the same time educational content,” adds Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business, Dan Horan.

HOOQ is also pleased to announced its new look as the new interface boasts a mobile first UX after massive beta testing and research. It features a brand new real time content feed plus personalized recommendation engine to discover new favourites in an easier way! The real time content feed highlights the most popular content that shows what others are watching or what titles are currently trending. In addition, aside from supported platforms such as iOS, Android, web, Chromecast and Android Set-top Box, soon it will also be available on Airplay and mobile web.
