Our fellow citizens who were affected by Typhoon Yolanda can catch the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios fight, live and for free at SKYcable viewing stations in the Visayas area on Sunday, November 24, 2013.

SKYcable set up viewing stations in seven different areas in the affected region. Residents of Tacloban can flock to either the Astrodome or to the Capitol Grounds, while those from Medellin, Cebu can watch it at the town plaza. Viewing stations have also been set up at the town plazas of Guiuan, Samar; Estancia, Iloilo; Concepcion, Iloilo and Ormoc, Leyte.

“We know how much of an inspiration Manny Pacquiao is to all Filipinos. We thought it was fitting that our kapamilyas who have shown a tremendous, resilient spirit in the face of great adversity, should see our national boxing hero in action,” says Ray Montinola, Skycable COO. “We put up our Sky viewing stations starting November 15, so people in the Typhoon Yolanda-affected areas will have access to information and entertainment, via ABS-CBN, ANC, and Cartoon Network, despite widespread power outages. Since then, we’ve received appreciative responses from the residents there, adults and children alike, as they’re made aware of the ongoing relief efforts and also get to enjoy a much-needed respite from their difficult situation after the typhoon.” Montinola adds.

Typhoon Yolanda, which hit the Philippines last November 8 was the one of the strongest tropical cyclones in history, affecting thousands in the Visayan cities of Samar, Leyte, Palawan, Cebu and Iloilo.
