Two days before my birthday, April 21, around 8AM, my husband and I went out of town for a beach getaway. Before we get to our destination, we had 2 stops for gas refill, and around 11 in the morning, we were at Tagaytay and had an Eat-All-You-Can lunch at Bag of Beans. We paid Php 490++ each for the lunch inclusive of unlimited juice. Maybe I was just too excited that what I ate was mostly desserts.
Then, we headed to our main destination – Pico De Loro Beach and Country Club. I’ve heard a lot about the place and most of them were positive, not to mention that it is Eco-friendly because the developments made and structures built conform with the principles of sustainable development, thus environment’s natural beauty is preserved. Because of these, we decided to experience the club ourselves.
Actually, Pico De Loro Beach and Country Club is exclusive for members and registered guests (with endorsement from the member). From Tagaytay, it took us 1 and 30 minutes before we arrived the gate of the resort.
They have strict security that they checked our names from the list, once verified we were given a car pass. A little more drive and we reached the paradise!

We then checked in at Pico Sands Hotel. Upon check in, we’re given a folio card where all our expenses (food, activities, etc) will be charged and the account will be settled upon check-out.
We had a Premier room with lagoon view and the view was simply stunning. The room has 2 queen size beds and it was really big for the 2 of us. It’s air-conditioned room with LCD Tv/Plasma Screen with cable, shower, refrigerator, mini bar, coffee/tea maker, desk, free WiFi access, in-room safe, seating area, ironing facilities. Hair dryer, bathrobes and complementary bottled water are also provided. There’s also a balcony/terrace. Just like to mention that the CR has no bidet.

Anyway, after we’re settled, we did not waste any time that we changed to our swimming attires and explore the Beach Club. We went there through the Hotel’s service.
At the club, we utilized the free locker where I kept my bag; female locker room is separate from males and both rooms have shower and changing area. We rented 2 towels (P50/each) charged to the folio card then hit the beach.

I think we even stayed in the water for about 2 hours. The beach has fine sand though not that white. The water is somewhat green in color (not the usual blue) but it’s clear and clean. Around 5:30PM we “got up” and took some pictures before heading back to the hotel for dinner.
Around 7 in the evening, we had tranquility massage at the Rain Spa and it was a very relaxing/calming experience.
After this, we went back to the Beach Club to have a sumptuous dinner together. We had our dinner at the Sun Coral Café where we ordered Crispy Pork Slab and CPA (Chicken Pork Adobo); each order is good for 3 persons.

The slab was crispy but tender while CPA gave adobo a twist that hubby can’t take his hands off it. We even ordered for extra rice serving (each). Guess what? We paid P1100 for this dinner! Nevertheless, the price is all worth it.
After dinner, we decided to walk back to our place. It was like a “date”. I felt like we’re in Singapore because the ambiance is very similar with the clean place, buildings and peaceful environment.
The next morning, we had the usual complimentary breakfast from the hotel. They served it between 6AM-10AM. Then we strolled along the Country Club where the pool was located. The pool was clean and lying on the lounge floating in the water seems enticing. After some picture takings, we had a swim.
Since, we need to check out that afternoon due to some other plans; we went back to our room, packed our things and settled our bills. Though it was a short beach getaway, still it was a blast! I think this is one of the best birthday getaways I had! I will definitely come back sooner (if not later) to try other activities we missed at Pico De Loro like ATV, videoke room, bowling, billiards, game room and a lot of other activities.
