Rock The Fat Away With Xenical by Roche

Since I made a promise to myself this year that I will be more serious in getting this excess baggage of mine, I am slowly making a progress in “rocking my fat away”! Speaking of rocking the fat away, it was just in time that I got to be invited in the Rock The Fat Away campaign. The campaign was officially launched last Saturday at the Holiday Inn Hotel.

The blogging event was graced by the presence of Mr. Butch Lopez, Roche Business Unit Director, as he delivered his opening remarks. He highlighted that Philippines must be alarmed of the continuously getting high risk of obesity and overweight among Filipino people, as well as, encouraged those who were present on that day to help them with the information dissemination and create public awareness regarding this health issue by joining the Rock The Fat Away advocacy.

Mr. Harold Bongbong, the Brand Manager of Xenical, was also present as he talked about Club New You and mentioned that Roche is now in cooperation with the Philippine Association for the Study of Overweight and Obesity (PASOO) so as to help every Filipino fight against overweight and obesity. As most of you may have already know, Xenical is a medication taken for weight control purposes and is distributed by Roche. Roche is the world’s largest biotech and a pioneer in diabetes management.

Roche and Xenical decided to take the initiative and partnered with PASOO to launch a lose-weight “Rock The Fat Away” campaign and help people achieve the ideal normal weight. The campaign, was launched through a Health Passport Journey sponsored by Chris Sports, Beauty Bar, Lightwater, Vibram Fivefingers, Yellow Halo Guilt-Free Kitchen, Shinagawa Lasik & Aesthetics, and from Pipino Vegetarian Food by Pino. Soul diva, Bituin Escalante, and Rapper/Dl/Radio Jock, Dash Calzado, set the mood as the original campaign track, “Rock It (Rock The Fat Away)” sung by Bituin, was played over and over again.

As for the Club New You, which is a virtual portal that can provide guidance for proper weight loss and achieving a healthy, ideal body weight, it serves as a passport or guide in one’s weight loss journey. Anyway, we were served lunch on that said activity and after a while, we did the next thing on the program – doing Zumba!. Since I am already into Zumba, I eagerly joined the group to start our Zumba lesson. So, after that, we went to the venue of the main event which is also open to the public. Actually, this event was hosted by Marc Nelson and Mitzi Borromeo. The main event was consisted of different like free body and fat analysis, blood sugar count, photobooth, free shirts, workout session with Coach Joseph Pagulayan, food demonstrations by Yellow Halo Guilt Free Kitchen, and raffle prizes.
