I was seriously considering banning myself from entering another chicken-cum-pork barbecue place for the simple reason that I was getting tired of them. Hearing about these two men, one a Mama or grown man and the other a boy, was getting to be much too much for me. One tries to come up with gimmicks to entice people, the other subjects itself to bad press just so people would talk about it. Oh wait, I thought I was merely going to enjoy a grilled lunch. I never thought I’d be hounded by controversies when getting a grilled lunch.

Thankfully, Floring came. No, she’s not a tropical depression or a weather disturbance. She is the newest barbecue place that promises porky-licious and chicken-tastic gastronomic treats.

Floring’s Bbq and Grill is the brainchild of Chefs Florabel Co-Yatco and Ricky Laudico. It is right in the heart of Bonifacio Global City and right smack the office strip. Perfect venue, if you ask me, given that there are so many offices around the area.

Incidentally, this was what I noticed when we went there to eat. The placed opened only last February 24, but it already has a strong following as evidenced by the stream of people who came and went during lunchtime.

Around 11 am

After 30 minutes…

There was a never-ending influx of customers, and according to the waiters, it was always like that at around 12 noon to two in the afternoon.

What set Floring’s from other chicken and pork places is its interiors. It looked like a scene right out of a movie; yes, it was that cool. You’d feel as if you were dining in a high-end restaurant with earth-friendly prices. That’s another plus factor – the prices. With a budget of Php300.00 or less than $10, you’d have a full meal with unlimited rice and drink. You could even choose to go unli-plain rice or unli-Java rice, take your pick.

I tried their Bbq and Lechon Manok, and I instantly professed my love for it. It was scrumptious! Oh, and their cheesy halo-halo was the bomb! I have never taster halo-halo as delectable as that. They have quite such an extensive menu, so you’d have plenty of choices when you visit the place.

Finally, and this is probably one of the best things about the place, you won’t come out of Floring’s smelling like barbecued chicken or grilled pork. No. The place is well ventilated, so the scent of cooking food won’t cling to you or your clothes.

So if you’re looking for a new place to try in BGC, drop by Floring’s. Believe me; you won’t regret it. It’s located at Unit 2, 31st St. corner 4th Avenue, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The store’s open from 10:00am to 11:00pm.
