    Unofficially Yours

The successful team-up of Angel Locsin and John Lloyd Cruz in ABS-CBN’s TV series “Imortal” has prompted the network’s executives to produce a romantic-comedy film that would reunite the two once again. The two are reuniting in the big screen via “Unoffocially Yours,” under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina, the same woman who brought us successful romance dramas such as One More Chance, Miss You Like Crazy, You Changed My Life, and A Very Special Love. Unofficially Yours will grace theaters all over the Philippines a day after Valentine’s, on February 15th. The film’s story and screenplay are by Juan Miguel Sevilla.

The plot of the story would remind you of foreign movies such as Friends with Benefits and No Strings Attached. Nevertheless, when a movie incorporates Filipino values, you have to brace yourself for the unexpected. Unofficially Yours revolves around Macky Galvez, John Lloyd’s character, who is trying to recover from a failed relationship. He meets Ces, played by Angel, and welcomes the possibility of falling in love with her. However, there’s a catch.

Ces is not interested in commitment. She is a modern woman who fears the “C” word and contents herself with casual love affairs. Nevertheless, when she meets Macky, she re-evaluates herself. Would she finally give in to a committed relationship or will she draw the line and stay contented with the “Unofficially Yours” status? That’s what we’ll all find out in the movie.

Joining the two is an all-star cast including Ms. Tetchie Agbayani and Mr. Edgar Mortiz. If you’ve seen the movie’s poster, the lines written all over it would intrigue you. After all, who doesn’t hope to find love, settle down, and live happily ever after even if relationships are as unsure as they go?

Grab a date this February 15th and head on out to theaters near you.
