Being a Filipina blogger is not complete if you are not a member of Pinay Mommies Community. PMC, as we fondly call it, is one of the continuously growing communities of Filipina mothers (and wife, too!) who consider blogging as a passion. This community has been on its existence for almost four years already, since it started last January 21, 2008 as the brain child of Mommy Ruby, who is also known as Pinay Mommy, or Mommy Rubz. (You know, I owe a lot to Mommy Ruby because she’s one of those supportive people who helped me out when I was still a newbie in the blogging world.)
I don’t remember when or how I become a member of PMC. I think I was blog hopping (3 years ago), and I stumbled on one of the PMC member’s blog. I noticed the badge that says “Proud Member of Pinay Mommies Community”. And because of my curiosity, I clicked on the badge, was directed to PMC site, and the rest is history.
My PMC Badge
What I love being one of the members of PMC is that I gained new friends (online and offline), that even though we don’t know each other, we still get the chance to share our sentiments, whether in blogging or sentiments with our personal lives as wives or as mothers. Aside from sharing, we also get the chance to give advices and suggestions to help each other; so it’s really a win-win situation. In addition, as a member of PMC, I’m also entitled to join some online contests, online tasks and other money-making opportunities that are only exclusively available to the members. Plus, membership is absolutely FREE!
Because we, the members, together with the founder, Mommy Ruby, thought that we have been online friends for years and that we need to know each other personally, a Grand EB (eye ball) was considered. After several “planning” and taking some things into consideration (like the venue of the 1st GEB and the date, because we come from different “islands” of the Philippines), the 1st Grand EB was held last April 2011.

This was the time where I finally get to meet my PMC friends; though I have already met some of them, still it was my first time to meet majority of the members of the PMC and finally put a face to the blogs I have been constantly visiting and reading. To sum it up, the first EB was successful, though it was some sort of a “rush” due to some reasons. Thus, Mommy Ruby and the rest of us decided to hold another Grand EB.
Finally the 2nd Grand EB was held last November 22, 2011 at Aling Tonya’s Seafood Restaurant located at Macapagal, Dampa, Pasay.
There were 48 participants who came to meet each other, get-to-know each other and have fun, the PMC way! Take note, the mommies and wives who were there came from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao plus 3 Pinay mommies who came from Canada, US and Germany!

After the welcoming remarks, Mommy Ruby discussed how the group started and what should we expect next from PMC:
- A Charity event
- A new network called PR Moms
Anyway, the 2nd Grand EB was more fun and exciting because the participants almost doubled in number, as compared to those who attended the 1st Grand EB. In addition, more sponsors were also generous enough to help us out in making the event successful and for that, in behalf of the whole PMC, I would like to thank all the sponsors who undoubtedly supported the PMC’s 2nd Grand EB and they are the following:
