Blackberry Pilipinas’ First Fans Meet Up

I have been a Blackberry fan ever since, though I didn’t get a chance to own one. Anyway, I was fortunate enough, together with my husband, Monch, to have been invited to attend the Blackberry’s First Fans Meet Up last August 25, 2011 at Marriott Hotel. Blackberry Pilipinas organized event for the purpose of uniting the Blackberry fans, get them to get to know each other, update the fans on the latest about Blackberry products, as well as get the fans to have the first glimpse of the arrival of Blackberry Playbook here in the country. The occasion was graced by Gerald Ang, the Head of Digital Marketing, Asia Pacific at Research In Motion (RIM), together with Amazing Race’s Team Philippines, Rich Herrera and Rich Hardin.

Blackberry fans had real fun during the meet up as games were prepared for the guests and fans to make the ambiance more “friendly”. I remember that there was this one game where the names of the bloggers were written in a piece of paper and placed in a bowl, after sometime, the names of the lucky fans (including the bloggers) were picked from the bowl and those who were called will be given a chance to win a Blackberry Torch 9800 if they win the Air Hockey game using the new Blackberry Playbook.

Guess what?! I was one of the lucky bloggers who was given a chance to try the newest baby of Blackberry – the Blackberry Playbook. I was excited to play the game and lay my hands on the new Blackberry Playbook, but of course, I was more excited to win the prize – the Blackberry Torch 9800! Anyway, I was closed to winning (LOL) – but that was it, just close to. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough that night, but nevertheless, my husband and I really enjoyed the occasion.

Although, we never won a prize, still we’re happy that we gained more friends as we had mingled and had chitchat with other Blackberry fans and get to know other bloggers, as well. Plus I had a chance to try out a Blackberry Playbook myself, not just seeing one in a store’s Slatwall display.
