ABS-CBN will launch a new reality show titled “I Dare You” on July 11, 2011.
“I Dare You” will challenge the courage, ability and perseverance of your favorite kapamilya stars, as well as to share the inspiring stories of extraordinary Filipinos.
The said reality program will be hosted by premier actor Jericho Rosales, tv host-actress Iya Villania and young comedienne Melai Cantiveros.
During the “I Dare You” presscon, Jericho said that the concept of this show is different from the other reality show. This show is full of heart. Maaintig talaga puso nyo. We want to show the people na ang mga artista ay may damdamin, may puso, marunong ng kapwa-tao.
Jericho also clarified that though the celebrities will have to dress down and work, it is not the goal of the program to deglamorize them. He said the stars are actually given the opportunity to show who they really are behind the camera and away from the limelight.
However, “I Dare You” is not just a show for celebrity Kapamilya challengers. It is also for the “Bidang Kapamilya” which are the everyday Pinoys who bravely face life’s challenges no matter how hard they get. They are the market vendors, the teachers in far-flung areas, the laborers, stuntmen, garbage and junk collectors, farmers, senior citizens, people with disability, among others.
Iya said, “yung premyo pinaghihirapan nila hindi para sa kanila (celebrity Kapamilya challengers) but its for the “Bidang Kapamilya”. Ang matatanggap ng mga challengers namin ay experience. Mag-iiba din kasi tingin mo sa sarili mong buhay”
ABS-CBN’s News and Current Affairs division and TV Entertainment Group have joined forces to make this show possible.
