There are so many things to do when one visits the city of Manila. Places like the historical Intramuros, the Cultural Center of the Philippines or the family-friendly Manila Ocean Park are just some of the many interesting places you can explore in Manila. Spending a day or two is never enough. If you are on a tight budget but would want to stay longer in Manila to fully enjoy what the city has to offer, finding a budget friendly hotel should be on the top of your list. Good thing there is the Gran Prix Hotel & Suites Manila.
Last Friday, we were invited by Gran Prix Hotel and Suites, with the help of Orange Magazine TV, to experience what Gran Prix Manila can offer.
Gran Prix Hotel & Suites Manila is situated along A. Mabini St. in the famed Ermita district. It gives its guests easy access to the many interesting sites that will surely make their visit to Manila a very memorable one. It is a few minutes away from the city’s leisure spots, historical institutions, entertainment attractions and even business hubs and various government offices. Robinson’s Place Manila, Bonifacio Wall, The National Library, Metropolitan Theatre, Manila City Hall, US Embassy and The Department of Foreign Affairs are just some of the many places that are easily accessible when one is to stay at the Gran Prix Hotel & Suites Manila.
We arrived around 6 in the evening and the guard immediately assisted us to their parking lot. Yes, Gran Prix Manila have designated parking lot with 24-hour security.
Upon reaching the reception, we were greeted with a sweet smile by the receptionist and advised us to proceed to 7th floor where Rhina Villagracia, Sales and Marketing Supervisor of Gran Prix Hotels and Suites Luzon, was waiting for us.
After signing their registration form, we were escorted to our designated rooms. We got settled in our rooms and rested up for a couple of minutes. Around 7:30 pm, we went back to the function room located at the 7th floor to officially start the program. But before the presentation, Namayan Filipino Restaurant served us with mouth-watering and sumptuous food prepared by a 24 yr old chef, Gren Mendoza.
Monggo Soup, Lamb Shank meal for main dish, Lava Cake for dessert were served.
Then after dinner, Rhina showed us some presentation and discussed what Gran Prix Hotels can offer. Then, followed by a tour of the hotel…

A bit of interesting trivia I learned during the tour:
- Joe D’ Mango is not only a radio disc jockey. He’s also an interior designer. He’s the man behind the design of Gran Prix.
- Gran Prix chose minimalist design to make each room relaxing with spacious comfort and complete privacy.
- Gran Prix derived from the French word Grand Prix which is the literal translation of Grand Prize.
- Gran Prix Hotel is owned by a 100% Filipino-owned Company.
- Gran Prix owner love cars! Does Grand Prix ring a bell? Grand Prix = automobile racing.
After the tour, we went back to the function room where we had a fun activity. Their function room can accommodate small meetings of up to 30 people. It is also good for small activities like seminars, general meetings, product launchings. etc.
Then, before midnight, we went to the roof deck for a fellowship night where we were served with yummy pulutans and booze!
To make the night alive, a videoke machine was prepared where we can sing our lungs out until dawn. But around 4 in the morning, we decided to get some sleep. My husband and I were assigned to room 503 (Suite room). The room was adequate for us. Room was spotless, bed linen was clean & fresh. The room is very cozy and inviting. There are so many power outlets to power and charge our laptops, cellphones and cameras. Gran Prix also offers Wi-Fi Internet access in rooms and public areas like the lobby.

Too bad we missed the fabulous breakfast they have served for us. We woke up late (lol); but I really had a good night sleep. I definitely look forward to returning to Gran Prix; great value and a nice experience.
