    For those considering a writing workshop, join “The Art of Writing Lifestyle Stories” Summer Workshop by well-respected PR Communications and Special Events consultant Joselito “Toots” Tolentino.

    “The Art of Writing Lifestyle Stories” Summer Workshop is open to high school and college students, and to those who want to discover their own hidden talent for writing lifestyle stories.

    The workshop will cover the following subjects:

    • Art & culture
    • Health & Wellness
    • Home & Interiors
    • Food & Restaurants
    • Fashion & Beauty
    • Travel
    • Family & Personalities

    This five-day workshop will start on April 4, 2011.

    SCHEDULE / DAYS / TIME

    Mondays & Wednesdays: (10:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. ; 2:00 – 4:00 pm)

    Total of five sessions – 2 hours each

    • Class A: Apr. 4, 6, 11, 13, 18
    • Class B: Apr. 25, 27, May 2, 4, 9
    • Class C: May 16, 18, 23, 25, 30.

    Tuesdays & Thursdays: (10:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. ; 2:00 – 4:00 pm)

    Total of five sessions – 2 hours each

    • Class A: Apr. 5, 7, 12, 14, 19
    • Class B: Apr. 26, 28, May 3, 5, 10.
    • Class C: May 17, 19, 24, 26, 31.

    Saturdays: (10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.)

    Total of four sessions – 2 1/2 hours each

    • Class A: Apr. 9, 16, 23, 30
    • Class B: May 7, 14, 21, 28

    ABOUT TOOTS TOLENTINO


    Toots is a well-respected PR Communications and Special Events consultant in the industry.

    He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree major in Communications Arts degree from the University of Santo Tomas plus masteral classes at the U.P. College of Mass Communications.

    Toots started out as a researcher/ writer for the government’s tv network – Channel 4.

    Advertising stints in Account and Creative Management at McCann Erickson, J. Walter Thompson, REACH and AVIACOM.
    He has also written articles in various publications – Philippine Daily Inquirer, Manila Bulletin, Business World, The Times Journal and other magazines. He was the Contributing Fashion Editor of Sunday Times Magazine in the 80’s.

    Constantly driven with his writing skills on art and culture, fashion, theatre, personalities, food and travelogues, his name has become synonymous as one of the purveyors of ‘ Lifestyle PR ’ for many years.

    Toots also produces art exhibits in Manila and at the Philippine Center in New York to promote Filipino artists. From New York, he also brought to Manila the exhibit: “ Imagine… The Art of John Lennon”.

    With an extensively written folio about the various theatre productions he has seen on Broadway (New York), West End (London), Vancouver (Canada), Edinburgh (Scotland), Brighton and Bath (United Kingdom), Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney and Melbourne (Australia), Toots always amuses everyone on the set with his casual exchange of banter and inside stories about his experiences in theatreland .

    Having personally trailed the musical “Miss Saigon” from its various productions in New York, London, Manchester, Cardiff, Liverpool, Sydney and Hongkong with his countless articles, he was the publicist of Saigon Company when the musical was produced in Manila.

    Over the years, Toots has also handled independent theatre productions (Rocky Horror Show), Tanghalang Pilipino, Repertory Philippines, 9 Works Theatrical, Theatre Down South, and Bit by Bit Development Co.

    Toots is a board member of the Philippine Opera Company handling its various Pr / Publicity requirements. Among his projects include:

    “ OPERALITE, ” “ LA BOHEME ” , “ MASTER CLASS, ” and the forthcoming production of “ CANDIDE.” He recently promoted “ OPERA BELLES.”

    This year, Toots recently handled “ RENT – 2011, “ OROSMAN AT ZAFIRA ”, “ THE 39 STEPS ”, ‘ SHAKESPEARE IN HOLLYWOOD ” and SIMON’S WAY.” Future productions will include Repertory Philippines’

    “ SEUSSICAL” and “ PETER PAN ”; and “ SWEET CHARITY ” from 9 Works Theatrical.
