If you love animated films, then The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, will surely entertain you and the whole family, as well. Based on the book series Guardians of Ga’Hoole by Kathryn Lasky, The Legend of the Guardians features Jim Sturgess, Geoffrey Rush, Ryan Kwanten, Emily Barclay, Anthony LaPaglia, and David Wenham as voice-overs of the main characters.

On 2005, Warner Bros. earned the rights to the book series and has planned to collaborate with producer Donald De Line. Originally, book author, Kathryn Lasky was the one chosen to write the screenplay for the movie series but due to some circumstances, plans have changed in 2008. Still produced by Warner Bros., together with the Australian companies, Village Roadshow Pictures and Animal Logic, screenplay of The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole was now written by John Orloff and John Collee and produced by Zareh Nalbandian. Production of the animated movie began last year, February 2009 in Australia and developed by the digital visual effects company, Animal Logic, after proving the company’s worth with the 2006 film Happy Feet.

Here’s a sneak glimpse of the story:

Soren, a young adventurous owl loves to listen to his father’s story about the legendary Guardians of Ga’Hoole, an army of owl sworn to protect the Kingdom, while his older brother, Kludd, is jealous of the attention he’s getting from their father. An incident happen when the brothers are captured by the Pure Ones, a group of owls who believe that they are the purest of all owl races. Due to a help of a friend, Soren escaped from the Pure Ones and meet friends along the way. He then later found himself training to fight against the Pure Ones and defend the Kingdom. Unfortunately, he discovered that his brother, Kludd, is destined to fight against him.

An interesting video game has been released last September 14, 2010 by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. This video game is, of course, based on The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole. It is now available in Wii, Xbox 360, PS3, and DS platforms. Krome Studios developed the game for Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3, while Tantus Media developed the game for DS platform. Music and editing is courtesy of David Hirschfelder and David Burrows, respectively. Runtime is approximately 90 minutes.
