Filipinos are known for celebrating the Christmas season warmly together with their respective families; but not only that, Filipinos are also popular for celebrating the Yuletide season longer as we start to feel the air of Christmas as early as September. Just like what we often hear, “ber” months signify that Christmas is already here.
In line with this Filipino tradition, Kraft Eden is one with the Filipinos in celebrating a longer yuletide season as here in the Philippines we start to celebrate Christmas one hundred days earlier. Because of this, Eden Cheese has once again launched another new way of making the season delicious at an affordable price and the same time, reaching out and giving opportunities to the carefully selected towns from all over the country. I’m talking about the Eden’s Sarap ng Pasko: 100 Days of Christmas. Last year they spearhead the Keso de Gallo Celebration, where they feed churchgoers for 9 mornings in 9 different cities from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, in 9 different churches with 9 carefully selected Filipino recipes.
This year, the Eden’s Sarap ng Pasko: 100 Days of Christmas, which started as early as September 4, 2010 and will end until the first Sunday of January 2011, asked a cook off between 100 participating towns from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The instruction was simple: ingredients of the dish must be unique to that certain town, combined with Kraft Eden Cheese to make it more tasty, but affordable that will fit everybody’s budget. This celebration is in partnership with ABS-CBN Network.
According to Mr. Tacdera, Kraft Foods Philippines’ Category Marketing Manager, they believe in every Filipino’s natural talent to come up with their very own nutritious, delicious and affordable meals; and they leave the decision to the each Filipino to decide on which meal and town deserves this year’s recognition.
Some of the cheese-based dishes that have been in the list are Kraft Malunggay Fetuccini from Muntinlupa, Special Cheesy Kaldereta from Lapu-Lapu, Cebu, Cheesy Squash-Gabi Balls with Malunggay Leaves from San Isidro, Davao del Norte, Cheese-filled Ampalaya from Pulupandan, Negros Occidental and Malunggay Balls with Kraft Eden Cheese from Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, among others.
