A Memorable Experience at Mines View Park Hotel

I was once again got lucky, when I was one of the bloggers who were chosen to experience an exciting but relaxing trip to Mines View Park Hotel at Baguio City.

The two-day trip, which was from September 23-24, 2010, was an exhilarating tour. We truly enjoyed the travel as we get to do various activities in Baguio City, courtesy of Mines View Park Hotel!

On the first day of the tour, we arrived at the Mines View Park Hotel at around 11:30 in the morning. We were welcomed warmly and assisted us with our luggage to make us, their guests, more comfortable. We rested for a moment while savoring the spectacular sight of Cordillera’s green landscape. Located on the edge of Baguio City’s northeast limits and 1,500 meters above sea level, Mines View Park Hotel is truly a one of a kind relaxing place for the “urbanistas” who love to dwell on quiet places from time to time and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

Around 12 noon, we were offered a free lunch while having a Mini Presscon at the cozy Function Hall that can accommodate up to 150 guests. The Function Hall is equipped with a white screen and projector for audiovisual presentations, a sound and PA system, and basic lighting equipment. We also received Press Kits during the Presscon. For those who like to have a private meeting and want a smaller but private place equipped with flat-screen monitor, a projector, whiteboards, audiovisual system and video playback equipment, Mines View Hotel Park Hotel’s new Board Room is the perfect place to host seminars and other social gatherings good for 15-20 attendees. Free flowing coffee will be provided upon request.

At 2:00PM we were toured around the hotel and I, personally, like the hotel. It’s a quite place perfect for those who enjoy the calming breeze of Baguio City and the soothing atmosphere of the Philippine’s Summer Capital, I recommend you to stay at the Mines View Park Hotel as I’m sure you’ll going to love your stay! The 29 rooms are inspired from the relaxing Alpine chalet equipped with modern amenities that are perfect for everyone coming from all walks of life plus the hotel service is extra warm! For those who prefer to do online things, all Wifi enabled rooms will serve its purpose. Most of the rooms open to private balconies to take pleasure in viewing the Cordillera Mountains and pine forests.

During the tour inside the hotel, I’ve seen the gym, equipped with modern exercise hardware. Exercise buffs can still stay fit even on vacation, while surrounded by a panoramic view of mountain and forest. I’ve also learned that for those who want to pamper themselves from the comfort of spa can try the Asian Spa; trained therapists use the hotel’s very own line of spa oils, apothecary salts and creams. There is also a place for the kids to roam around safely and run around freely at the play area with slides and other amusement set up.

The veranda is ideal for small private functions. The place has a soothing ambiance of romance and drama as the Verandas open to a wide-open space of trees and mountain.

At 4:00 in the afternoon, we had our free Yoga Session. We also tried and enjoyed the fortune telling.

Of course, food, the most important part of all. Mines View Park Hotel’s main dining area is Zenz Restaurant that offers Western, Asian and Continental entrees that make use of Baguio’s fresh produce such as crisp vegetables, newly-picked fruits and just-ground coffee. Strawberry Sinigang is the most sought-after dish here where freshly-picked strawberries are used to provide the sweet-tangy flavor to the broth and the customer’s choice of meat (pork, beef, shrimps or fish), giving the dish a delightfully fruity charm.

Zenz Restaurant is open from 7:00 AM until 10:00 in the evening. On the other hand, Zenz Bar opens from 6:00 in the afternoon up to 12:00 midnight. Mixed drinks, fine wines, beer and cocktails are served for those who want to unwind. Scrumptious pica-pica and light cocktail morsels are also available.

At around 6:00pm, each blogger is taught how to prepare the famous and delicious Half Moon‘s Bibingcrepe, an exclusive culinary offerings of the hotel. It is a fluffy bibingka rolled out into a crepe with a slight flavor of caramel.  We enjoyed each moment and laugh at our own first few attempts to bake a Bibingcrepe.

We had our Dinner at the Patio Entrance at around 7 in the evening. We were entertained by Native Igorot Performers while we were having our delightful meal.

We rested for a while and later roasted some marshmallows over a fireplace and sang at the top of our lungs during a videoke galore after which.

We ended the day with a smile painted on our face due because of the memorable day that has passed that was full of activities and memories to linger. But of course, before we go to bed, we washed ourselves first and I’m happy that Hot and Cold Shower is not a problem with Mines View Park Hotel, as compared to other Hotels and Inns in Baguio City where Hot/Cold Shower is always a major problem. Finally, before we call it a day, we watched some late night news on
some cable network at the flat screen TV inside our room.

The next day, we were served with complimentary breakfast at the Zenz Restaurant. After breakfast, we had our free time so we avail the free shuttle service of the Hotel.

We visited some of the Baguio’s tourist spots like the Strawberry Farm, Mines View Park and of course, visit at the Baguio City will never be complete without visiting the Ukay-Ukay area. Around 2:30 in the afternoon, we left Mines View Park Hotel.

The two-day trip is exhausting but no regrets! I enjoyed every minute of the experience, especially at the Mines View Park Hotel.
