While searching for affordable health insurance, I stumbled an article about Maytag dishwasher recall 2010.
If you bought a Maytag dishwasher between February 2006 and April 2010, you may be one of the 1.7 million families affected by the Maytag dishwasher recall announced today.
Whirlpool Corp., the single largest appliance producer in the world has recalled 1.7 million dishwashers, making this the biggest U.S. dishwasher recall in three years.
The products being recalled had a purchase price of $250-$900 and were sold between Feb of 2006 and April of 2010. The products are being recalled because of faulty heating elements that can short-circuit and ignite, according to a statement released by Whirlpool.
No injuries have been reported but there have been 12 reports of fires associated with products.
I remember my friend has one, so I called my friend. I advised her that the company will repair the appliances in the consumer’s homes, without charge. If the customers prefer new dishwashers, they can receive a rebate of $150 or $250 towards one of seven new models.
