Canon’s New Cameras, Printers, Headquarters, and CEO

I was invited to Canon Risshun A Spring of Delights Event held in Blue Leaf Piazza Venice last February 25, 2010. Risshun is the first day of spring in the traditional Japanese calendar. For Canon Philippines, Risshun is the beginning of more wonderful things to come. It’s the promise of positive developments – a strategist for a new president, a fabulously new headquarters, and a powerful line-up of new products.

New Canon PIXMA printers offer fully-loaded quality, value, and innovation

PIXMA iP2770’s high-impact performance
Canon launches PIXMA iP2770, the latest addition to the PIXMA Single Function Printer range. PIXMA iP2770 is being offered at a low, attractive price for mass penetration into the low-volume printing and price-conscious consumer groups.

Taking on the competition with its fastest-ever print speeds, Canon continues to focus on default excellent quality plus blazing print speeds of approximately 7.0 ipm (images per minute) in mono and 4.8 ipm in color, tested based on ISO/IEC 24734 standards.

The new printer model, with the sleek, distinctive look of its combined matte and glossy finish, streamlined footprint, and affordable price, is sure to attract a wider consumer base.

High functionality at an incredible price
Value-conscious consumers who seek the convenience of an integrated AIO solution will find the PIXMA MP258 as the perfect fit for their needs. The model offers excellent printing performance, capable of producing sharp prints of up to 4800 x 1200 dpi (min 2pl).

The PIXMA MP258 is an excellent personal printer and scanner – it is compact and stylish, ready to operate mere seconds from start-up, and with a hassle-free, self-opening paper output tray for printing and copying.

PIXMA MX347’s enhanced printer functionality
With blazing print speeds at 8.4 ipm (black) and 4.8 ipm (color), and copy speed at 3.4 ipm (color) using the Auto Document Fix (ADF) function, the PIXMA MX347 can produce a 4″ x 6″ borderless photo print in just 43 seconds.

The new PIXMA MX347’s leading-edge features include an ADF (Auto-Document Feed) function that analyzes and corrects flaws on both text and image segments on the page. It also features “save as Compact PDF” format when scanning and storing information in USB flash drives or memory cards.

Business productivity and confidentiality can also be managed by the printers’ enhanced security features in fax sending and reception, password-protected PDF document creation, and built-in secure network printing and scanning. In addition, fax messages stored in the AIO’s memory (up to 50 pages) can be transferred to USB memory and reviewed on the PC (instead of printing).
