The four-day 15th Philippine Hot Air Balloon Fiesta kicked off last February 11, 2010. I, together with my husband Montsch, and my blogger friends Earth, Jonel, and Mee-i, was there to witness it.
Sleepless, we left Manila around 4am and arrived 6am, just in time for the Philippine Army Flag Jump with Rondalla on Wheels.
Then, the event was officially opened. Participants started to inflate their balloons, and spectators were getting excited. I admit I was so engrossed when the beautiful and unique balloons float in the sky. It was my first time to see a flying hot air balloon.
The Beer bottle-shaped balloon, the Old McDonald Farmhouse hot air balloon, the turtle shaped balloon and the Sun balloon really stand out.
Activities like paragliding exhibition, ultra-light aircraft formation flying, skydiving exhibition, kite flying and more were lined up for the spectators to have fun and enjoy the Valentine holiday at the festival.
The Hot Air Balloon Festival is on until February 14, 2010. This is an event you shouldn’t miss.
Marquee Mall offers a free shuttle with regular trips from MarQuee Mall to the Hot Air Balloon site and vice versa.
Thanks to Kring (with her plurk post, I was able to get an all access pass from Marquee Mall). Also, thanks to Rogue 360 and to Maquee Mall for all the perks!

Well, one of the times I hate being from Davao. >.<
well, you still have Davao Food Appreciation Tour which Manila doesn’t have.
Hi Iris,
What day did you guys go? Friday? We went there Saturday but we arrived late and just saw the army flag but I’m not ready as my camera was still in my backpack. Also how did you manage to get a good vantage point? Are you inside the field? Marquee Mall? I hope I can get an all access pass also next year.
Check out my blog post too about this event.

Hi ZXT,
We were there during last Feb 11, Thursday, first day of the 15th Hot Air Balloon Festival 2010. And yes, we were inside the field. Thanks to Marquee Mall (mall owned by the Ayala Malls located beside the North Luzon Expressway, Angeles City, Pampanga) for the media/sponsor pass.
Hopefully, next year we can cover the event again. =)

We’re planning on going to the HAB next month. I hope we can get a pass din. :((
Hi Iris, you have an idea when the next hot air balloon will be next year?
