Yes, Google confirms plans to sell their own mobile phone.
It’s official: Google Inc. will sell its own mobile phone in an effort to protect its online advertising empire as people increasingly surf the Web on handsets instead of personal computers.
Google announced that it would sell Nexus One, which it called a superphone, exclusively through a new online store beginning Tuesday.
If you can remember Google handed out the device, called the Nexus One, to its own employees three weeks ago.
Consumers will be able to buy the Nexus One for $179 if they commit to a two-year service contract with T-Mobile USA or Consumers can get a Nexus One for $529 unlocked.
Specs reported for the Nexus One mention Wi-Fi connectivity, a 5-megapixel camera, and a 3.7-inch (diagonal) widescreen WVGA AMOLED touchscreen. Nexus One is capable of providing 802.11n, Bluetooth, and FM technologies. (See Technical Specification)
iPhone 3GS, like most other Smartphones has only 256MB. Why so low? The brand new Google HTC Nexus one has 512MB!
So Nexus One may be the potential iPhone rival.
