And for my entry (yes, I’m joining), I’ll share my Perstaym travel experience in Palawan.
Not too long ago, I won an expense paid trip for two to Palawan. As far as I remember, it was August 19. Our flight going to Puerto Princesa was 8Am. And around 9:30 in the morning, we were already in Puerto Princesa. Manong Monching (same name as my husband) was already in the airport to pick us up.
We stayed in The Legend Palawan. To our surprise, the travel agency reserved two rooms for us; one for me and one for my husband. I can’t blame them because when they asked me who will be my companion I just gave my husband’s name not even mentioning he is my husband plus I’m still using Mejia as my surname, not Acosta.
Since, we didn’t not have any planned activities before lunch, we decided to unpacked our things and had some rest. After lunch, we got ready for our Honda Bay tour.
Honday Bay is one of the Philippine’s premiere tourist destinations. it is also called the “The Last Frontier”. Honda Bay is comprised of several islets with shallow reefs bordering wonderful beaches which have become the much loved swimming, snorkeling, and diving destinations of local residents and tourists.
Though we are not Perstaym (first time) snorkelers, the experience was great and memorable. To think it was my perstaym to see a sea urchin.
After the Honday Bay tour, I will tell you we were exhausted when we finished but very satisfied.
The next day, we visited the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park or the Underground River. It features a limestone karst mountain landscape with an 8.2 km. navigable underground river. A distinguishing feature of the river is that it winds through a cave before flowing directly into the South China Sea. It was my perstaym to enter an underground river or a cave. Honestly, at first I was scared because it was dark inside plus there were so many bats. But I was amazed by the major formations of stalactites and stalagmites, and several large chambers. My favorite part of the cave is the the Cathedral where we saw figures like angels, the 3 kings, the giant candle and a lot more – your imagination is the only limit.
Though our free trip lasted for three days and two nights, but it was really a trip to remember.
