image002MCA Music is proud to announce, Ol’ Blue Eyes is back. Frank Sinatra, long acclaimed as the world’s greatest performer of popular music, is the artist who set the standard for all others to follow. Sinatra was, of course, more than a singer – he was an actor, recording artist, cabaret and concert star, radio and television personality and, on occasion, producer, director and conductor.

A beloved entertainer for six decades, Sinatra’s achievements earned him three Oscars, two Golden Globes, 10 personal Grammys (and a total of 21 including those for his albums), an Emmy, a Cecile B. DeMille Award, a Peabody, and he was recognized at the Kennedy Center Honors in 1983. Agenerous charitable contributor, one of his most prestigious awards was the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1971. In the United States, Sinatra was also awarded the Presidential Medal Of Honor and the Congressional Gold Medal (Congress’s highest civilian award)

Frank Sinatra passed away on May 14, 1998. As one of the 20th century’s most iconic entertainers, Francis Albert Sinatra made an indelible mark on the world. In the years since his passing, Sinatra’s legacy not only endures but also continues to grow in stature.

Celebrate his legacy with these iconic releases:

My Way (40th Anniversary Edition) My Way was originally released in March 1969 and featured a varied collection of contemporary pop songs, including Simon and Garfunkel’s “Mrs. Robinson,” The Beatles’ “Yesterday,” Ray Charles’ “Hallelujah I Love Her So,” and the iconic title track, “My Way,” which would become his career theme song. The song occupies a special place in popular music, influencing generations of musicians, from Elvis Presley to the Sex Pistols, both of whom conspicuously recorded their own versions. Famous Sinatraphile Bono, who contributes the My Way 40th Anniversary Edition liner notes, wrote of the song, “..[it’s] a boast – more kiss-off than send-off – embodying all the machismo a man can muster about the mistakes he’s made on the way from here to everywhere. ” Also included are two unreleased tracks: Stevie Wonder’s classic “For Once In My Life, recorded on August 13, 1969 for the Sinatra television special, and a live version of “My Way,” recorded on October 24, 1987, at Reunion Arena in Dallas. Available in record stores for only Php459.
