    With so many computers in the home, office, and public places, the number of people accessing the internet has grown at an astounding rate. However, the internet is a mine field of malicious code looking to harm your computer. Hackers want to have access to your PC for both fun and profit. You must be diligent in your ability to detect and then protect your important computer data.

    Viruses, spam, worms are some of the threats to your computer that you need to be concerned about. Before I didn’t know that spam is a threat. I learned that spam is electronic junk mail, usually unsolicited. It uses up tremendous amounts of network bandwidth. Though it cannot cause you or your computer much harm, it is extremely annoying and time consuming to delete. It is estimated that more than 60% of all email on the internet is spam.
