Yay! I just learned a new term today and it’s cloud computing. So what on Earth is cloud computing?
Actually, cloud computing is a general term for anything that involves delivering hosted services over the Internet.
Some examples of cloud computing are onine back ups, online software like contact management. Cloud computing can be an internet based software.
One of the company that offers cloud computing and online back ups is Egnyte Local Cloud. Egnyte Local Cloud provides businesses with the cost-benefits of cloud computing and the peace of mind and control of having company data on-premise. Based on customers feedbacks, Egnyte Local Cloud delivers the best on-site and online storage. They provide businesses with the cost-benefts of cloud computing. They offer the following capabilities:
* Off-line access to the files
* Work faster with large files
* Local copy of your files
Anyway, every services have advantages and disadvantages. Here are some advantages of cloud computing. First, cloud computing is affordable and it has low starting cost becuase you don’t need your own infrastructure. Also, many companies offer their service on monthly basis so you can pay it monthly and you will only pay for what you use. And since cloud computing is online based, you can access it from anywhere as long as you have internet connection. You can aslo access it from different computers.
However, lack of control over data, no internet connection means no service are some of its disadvantages.
But based on what I’ve read about cloud computing, the use of cloud computing has brought about gains in productivity and overall improvements to business efficiency.
Thanks for my cousin for explaining cloud computing to me.
