In preparation for the Shanghai World Expo in 2010, the Department of Tourism (DOT) together with the City of Manila and the Chinese Embassy mounted the Shanghai 360* Photo Exhibit. On display were 50 photos taken by Chinese  photographers, featuring a glimpse of life in Shanghai. Noted subjects included a magnificent fireworks display, the Donghai Bridge and famous celebrity Yao Ming. Photo shows, (from left) Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, China Ambassador Liu Jianchao, Vice President Noli de Castro, Madame Wu Youying, vice chairwoman of Shanghai’s China People’s Political Consultative Congress and Eduardo Jarque, Jr., DOT Undersecretary for Planning and Promotions. The DOT will lead the Philippine delegation to Shanghai in next year’s World Expo, with the theme, Better City, Better Life, which espouses urban living through eco-friendly and sustainable means.
