Detour – The Island Cove Adventure

Last March 5, 2009, 30 bloggers experienced a “first-of-its-kind” adventure called Detour – The Island Cove Adventure. It was held in Island Cove’s leisure park in Cavite.

7:30 in the morning, we all met up at Bonifacio High Street where four vans were waiting to take us to Cavite.

After 30 to 40 minutes, we left Bonifacio High Street. At around 9:30, we arrived at Island Cove. We were welcomed  by the Yehey! and the Island Cove staff.

We had our breakfast, then we were grouped into teams of 5.  Sire, Jonel, and Edelweiza were my groupmates. And Sir Jonas was our leader.

With the help of our tour guides, we familiarized ourselves with the surroundings.

    1. Animal Island

The Animal Island is home to different species of reptiles, mammals, and birds. Have a chance to feed crocodiles, monkeys, and come face to face with ostriches, Bengal tigers, deer, bearcats, and rabbits. Take a leisurely stroll along pathways lined with fragrant, colorful flowers inside the Butterfly Farm.

    2. Fishing Village

Go fishing at their 3- hectare fishing grounds and have your catch cooked exactly the way you want it! You may also enjoy classic Filipino dishes, Regional delicacies and fresh fruit shakes, all while dining in their huts on stilts over the water. The huts can accommodate from 6 to 150 persons.

    3. Oceania Water Park

Oceania Water Park has a 3,000 sqm. two-layered swimming pool with four giant slides. Inside the Oceania Water Park complex is a Kiddie Cove, a wading pool for kids. It has slides and showers that will surely excite the little ones.

Guests can also take pleasure in a game of table tennis or beach volleyball while taking a break from frolicking in the pool.

    4.  Gym at the Cove

    5. Island Cove Cafe

    6. Hotel at Island Cove

    7. Island Spa

    8. Island Songs

    9. Patron

Then after the tour, we had our yummy lunch.   The race started at 1:30pm.

1st task: Grab our survival kits at the Hotel.

2nd task: Look for half the mask at the Alapan Pavilion

3rd task: Cavite Hall for the Sack Race

4th task: Fear Factor Eating Challenge at the Sangley Point

5th task: Pool Challenge at the Oceania Water Park

    6th Task- Giant Outdoor Chess

    7th task: Island Songs KTV

8th task: Animal Island for Target Shooting

9th task: have a team photo with the baby alligator

1oth task: Ride a tram going to the Fishing Village

Though we did not win the race, I really had fun.  It is really one of a kind event.

Once again thanks to Yehey! and  Island Cove.

So if you are looking for an adventure this summer, visit Island Cove at Binakayan, Kawit, Cavite, Philippines 4104.  Because in Island Cove, adventure never stops.
