“Yes Man” stars Jim Carrey as Carl Allen, a guy whose life is going nowhere—the operative word being “no”—until he signs up for a self-help program based on one simple covenant: say “yes” to everything…and anything. Unleashing the power of “YES” begins to transform Carl’s life in amazing and unexpected ways, getting him promoted at work and opening the door to a new romance. But his willingness to embrace every opportunity might just become too much of a good thing.
I’m not a spoiler so I won’t tell the whole story. I really like the movie. I can’t remember when was the last time I laugh out loud in a movie, but Yes Man is successful in making me laugh. The story line is simple. It shows how Carl’s life changed with a simple YES.
I like Jim Carrey‘s acting in this movie. Unlike his other movies, he is not over acting in this movie. He seems he has toned it down. His acting is more mature.
I really love this scene where Carl sings Jumper by Third Eye Blind. I could even hear my husband singing the song. I’m pretty sure most of the people in the movie house are singing too.
Anyway, Zooey Deschanel is effortlessly charming. She plays a free spirit girl who teaches photography-while-jogging and she’s also a band vocalist. However, Jim Carrey looks too old for Zooey Deschanel. Hmmm the 18-year age difference between them is pretty obvious.
Nevertheless, I really enjoy the movie. So I say YES to this movie.

Once again thanks to Azrael and Warner Brothers for the second movie press screening.
