December 6, 2008 (December 7 in the Philippines) was the day all boxing fans were waiting for. My husband and I woke up early thinking that the game would start at around 8PM. However, the game started around 11 am (Philippine time). But it is worth waiting for. Every round, every punch and every move was so breathtaking. The game was so exciting.

Being a Filipino, I screamed (for joy) when Dela Hoya decided to quit the game after the 8th round. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao made the Filipinos proud again.

I really admire both players for their dedication. We all know that they made a lot of sacrifices for this fight. De La Hoya kept saying that he had nothing bad to say about Manny and that Pacquiao deserves all the recognitions in the world. On the other hand, Manny said that he’s just a boxer who’d train hard for any fight he has to do.

“You’re still my idol,” Pacquiao told De La Hoya.

“No, you’re my idol,” De La Hoya said.
