Tuesday night’s (May 19, 2009) “American Idol” finale will have season 8 top 2 finalists Kris Allen and Adam Lambert perform for the chance to become the next American Idol.
Also, Season 4 American Idol winner, four-time Grammy winner, and 2009 ACM Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood will return to the Idol to perform this year’s farewell song, “Home Sweet Home,” live.

The 2007 “American Idol” winner, Jordin Sparks, returned to American Idol to debut her new song “Battlefield.”
“Battlefield” is a song from Grammy-nominated American R&B/pop singer-songwriter Jordin Sparks. It serves as the lead single from Sparks’ as-of-yet untitled second studio album, which is due July 14, 2009. The song, the first to be released from Sparks’ as-yet-untitled sophomore effort, is now available exclusively via Apple’s iTunes Store and will be available via all other outlets May 19
