Where to Eat and Where to Buy Pasalubong

One of the most exciting things while travelling is the chance to sample different flavors and cuisines. Our trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia would not have been the unique experience that it was if we had been stuck with continental cuisine and international fare that we are already used to. Travel websites often caution tourists about eating local foods, but we really did not have anything to worry about since the restaurants that we went to are all known to serve delicious and well-prepared dishes. Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia: Up Close and Personal

The reputation of Sabah, Malaysia is not exactly that pleasant especially when territorial disputes come to mind. Contrary to popular perception, Sabah is actually a peaceful and beautiful place. Kota Kinabalu has all the elements of a great vacation: hospitable people, beautiful beaches, rich culture and history, and exhilarating activities. People of all ages will definitely have something to enjoy when they visit Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia.

We only spent two short days in Kota Kinabalu, but these two days were brimming with everything we could ask for. Having a bubbly guide who knows how to speak Tagalog and loves Filipino food made our trip really interesting – Philip, our tour guide, gave us both a scenic and informative tour of Kota Kinabalu’s attractions. Visiting Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

It was a quick weekend trip to Kota Kinabalu that Zest Air so graciously accorded to us a few weeks ago. And what a grand time we all had despite our short stay. The place, the people, the tastes, and the sights all combined to give us beautiful memories to bring back home. I won’t keep the suspense much longer. Here’s a glimpse of our visit to Kota Kinabalu:

Our Zest Air flight arrived at Kota Kinabalu right before noon time. We were greeted with a delicious lunch at Cafe Boleh located at the Pacific Sutera, the hotel where we were booked. Exploring New Destinations for Less

There are very few people I know who do not love travelling. With a chance to travel for less, it becomes more of a challenge to hold yourself back from clicking that buy now button on the online travel voucher. When I was invited to be part of Zest Air’s inaugural flight Manila to Kota Kinabalu, it did not take me long to get my bags packed. We flew on flight Z2501 with other travel and lifestyle bloggers and Apo Hiking Society’s Jim Paredes and his wife Lydia.
