So when I received the Marshall Headphones for review, a light bulb over my head just lit up!

Marshall offers what it calls the Major and Minor Headphones. At first glance, it looked like a stereotype headphone but at a closer look, I have seen the intricate details specifically created for the comfort of music lovers.

Marshall, as mentioned, created 2 types of headphones, the Major headphones, which is placed over-the-head, and Minor Earphones, which have a snug-fit design and comes with a cable clip. With Marshall Major Headphones, the headband has the manufacturer Jim Marshall’s signature scribbled beneath and covered in vinyl.

I called up Shui Spa for reservations but they are fully booked until August 16. My voucher will expire August 14. So I called Metrodeal Customer Service and asked them if they can do anything about my issue. To think I called Shui Spa one week before the expiration of my voucher. The rep told me that he’ll get back to me.

The next day, I received an email saying that Shui Spa has extended their promo until the end of the month. So I called again and managed to get our slots for August 26, 3pm.

After a few days, Shui Hilot Healing Massage Spa sent a text message reminding of our appointment. Thanks for the reminder, I almost forgot about our massage. (I tend to remember all my appointments, but when there are too many, I always forget.)

On August  26, we had to wake up a few hours earlier than our usual. (We usually wake up around 3pm to 4pm because we sleep around 7am to 9am.) We arrived 20 minutes earlier before our schedule.

The receptionist gave us a warm welcome and asked us to follow our therapist. They asked us to soak our feet in lukewarm water.

Then followed by the actual massage: our Combo Package consists of a 90-minute whole body hilot with fabulous Ventosa and refreshing Dagdagay foot hilot therapy.

Actually, it was my first time, and my husband’s, too, to purchase a coupon through group buying and I was in some sort of hesitation because of the fact that online scam are very common now a days. I was also afraid because I have read some online articles about some group buying site frauds, and but I haven’t encountered any negative Metrodeal reviews. So, I tried it, for the sake of “Sandy’s” plus, I read from Metrodeal’s Facebook Page their customers’ positive feedbacks. Fortunately, I encountered no problem during the Group Buying transaction with Metrodeal.

Now, here’s another uncertainty. According to what I’ve heard (and read, too), in order to avail of the discounted coupon, the customer must call in advance, preferably one day ahead, because Sandy’s have limited food offer to those who are availing the Metrodeal coupon. But since Sandy’s is just around the corner (where we were last Saturday), we decided to have a stop at Sandy’s Pizza QC Branch: 154 Katipunan Ave. (Hernandez Bldg.), White Plains, Quezon City. We tried our luck (because we didn’t have an advance reservation as indicated), collected all my guts and confidently approached the girl in the counter and told her that I’m claiming my Metrodeal coupon. Without further queries or whatsoever, she immediately handed me the menu book in exchange for my coupon and my husband’s. Then the girl in the counter checked something in her computer and courteously asked for our orders. I then felt relieved.

Now here’s the “drooling” part: as for me, I ordered 1 carbonara, Buffalo Wings and White pizza while my hubby ordered a Creamy Basil Pesto, buffalo wings and meatzarella pizza. Since it’s sort of “we cook while you wait” system, we waited for about 20mins before our orders were served. We excitedly and hungrily feasted on the food and when we can’t “take it anymore”, we decided to take out the “remains” since one order is more than enough for one person. What a hassle-free experience!

I’ve seen Rent for the nth time, but this 9 Works Theatrical‘s rendition of RENT is ‘newer, fresher, and ‘bolder’.  So far one of the best shows I have ever seen!

Ciara really went above and beyond my expectations. She was so hot in her pole dancing performance. I said to myself, “Wow”, and “I would love to do that!” (as if, LOL).

I love this “newer, fresher, and ‘bolder’ rendition of Rent.  Unlike past performances, this one has improved lighting, dialogues are more understandable and better choreography plus pole dancing!!! Yay!.

Although the restaurant was not that spacious enough to accommodate large number of customers, still the limited space is compensated and even overpowered by its delicious and healthy food. But I was told that they were going to open a new branch this coming April to better serve more customers and bring nutritious food menu to even more clients. I just also would like to add that the interiors are well decorated and do not resemble any other typical, boring Chinese Restaurant. It is enhanced by the furniture that is even imported from other countries, which make the place bring relaxing ambiance to its patrons.

Now, let us talk about food – my favorite topic (hehe). We were served with the Cantonese Soup Kitchen’s specialty of the house; they call it Sibot with Duck Soup, a Chinese herbal soup infused with health benefits to energize anyone who will have a taste of it. The soup was served in a soup bowl with metal to delay the cooling of the soup. For someone who is curious to know what does Sibot means, well it is a Chinese term for medicinal Goji Berries and pronounced as “see-bot”. At first, I thought that it will taste “not so good” as it is made of herbs, but I was surprised when I can’t get enough of it – honestly, it’s what really made me full despite of being served with other healthy and delectable cuisine. The duck really boost the taste of the soup as it is very tender, I was told that the duck was cooked for 2-3 hours to soften it and even make the soup more scrumptious.

In addition, we were also served with the well-known century egg; garlic burst spareribs, which tasted yummy with its sauce, the mapo tofu, which I really love because the tofu has a smooth and tender texture. We were served with both yang chow fried rice and seafood fried rice paired with honey glazed pork (one of my favorite!), beef broccoli with oyster sauce, seafood with broccoli and steamed fish filler with Japanese tofu. As for the dessert, we had the almond jelly with lychee and buchi followed by tea with milk aroma oolong that is so yummy with its milk aftertaste. To top it all, I had the watermelon shake that is so very refreshing (burp).

Oh, I was really full that night and I can’t wait to tag my husband along on my next visit, which is very soon. I’m sure my husband will surely love the food as I do and on my next visit, I’m planning to try the everlasting tea, sine I learned that it is a good and effective remedy for my PCOS problem and my hypertension problem. I mean, where else can I find all of these – enjoying a mouth-watering food, which at the same time gives me health benefits?! It’s only here, at the Cantonese Soup Kitchen.

Having a healthy way of living is not that easy nowadays as more and more chemicals are being used for various purposes that can both help us and affects us, especially in terms of our health. A concrete example of this is the chemicals used as preservatives to, of course, preserve our foods, thus prolonging its shelf life. But, this chemicals can also affect our health.

Good thing, there is a bistro that can help us have a healthy living by providing us organic foods, which means free from harmful chemicals, like pesticides, while helping the Filipino farmers as the same time. I am talking about sustainable foods at Le Bistro Vert. For appetizers, we tried their Thai Style Dory Fish Cakes served with cucumber relish and sweet tamarind dip (Php 155).

For the salad, we ordered Arugula, Davao Blue Cheese and Cashew served with Apple Shreds and Balsamic Dressing (Php 175 ).

We got Spiced Pumpkin, Lime Yogurt and Pappadum (Php 90) for our soup.

And for our main course, others ordered Chicken Green Curry with Eggplant, Zucchini and Jasmin Rice (Php225.00)

And I ordered Beer Battered Fish with camote chips, Spiced Vinegar and Lime Aioli (Php 275)

I really liked the Beer Battered Fish with Camote Chips, Spiced Vinegar and Lime Aioli.  The flavor is so rich that I can’t stop myself from grabbing a bite.  The fish was so tender; the beer batter coating was lite and crisp with a hint of malt taste. The camote chips were good too, crisp and firm. Yum!!!
