Ganging Up For Nutrition

There’s more to food than what meets the taste buds.
In fact, health experts agree that taste is not equals to nutrition. Most of the time, the more flavorful the food, the more it is packed with traitorous food ingredients that masquerade behind tasty additives.
“Filipino households are trying to translate their hard-earned money into filling meals for huge families that’s why most people load up with cartloads of unhealthy items like chips and instant noodles,” says Prof. Luchie Callanta, a UP Senior Lecturer and resident nutritionist of Doña Elena Cuisinera Club.
Give Hope to Underpriviledge Kids
SAMSUNG brings hope to underprivileged kids with launch of New Philanthropic Initiative.
- Samsung Hope pledges record US$700,000 to 21 children beneficiaries across Southeast Asia and Oceania.
- Program aims to raise social awareness by empowering local communities to decide grant allocation.
Three deserving beneficiaries that have made significant contributions in addressing children’s issues were identified in each of the seven markets that Samsung operates in across the region. Information on the beneficiaries is uploaded on the Samsung Hope microsite (samsunghope.org), where everyone can support their favorite beneficiary by pledging to let hope take off. Each beneficiary will receive a base amount with an additional grant to be determined by the number of pledges it receives.

In the Philippines the Filipino community can on their personal capacity donate directly to the foundations if they so desire by using paypal or a card of their choice. This will also be available in the microsite.
The three local beneficiaries identified by Samsung Electronics Philippines are:
- Tuloy sa Don Bosco Foundation - the Street Children Project of Don Bosco
- ATRIEV - Adaptive Technology for Rehabilitation, Integration and Empowerment of the Visually Impaired
- Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. - Transforming the country by delivering quality education to one student, one classroom, one school at a time.
How can you help?
1. Visit samsunghope.org and Add your Pledge.
2. Click the red Arrow and look for Philippines.
3. Now Select which Foundation (beneficiaries) you want to give pledge.
4. Just follow where it takes you, until the balloon appears to carry your pledge.
By just voting which Foundation you want to give pledge, you are already helping. Spread the news and let more people help.

Bloggers Invade EcoModa of I Love Betty La Fea

Yup, you read it right. We were in EcoModa set last December 5, 2008. We were handpicked for a visit to the EcoModa set of I Love Betty La Fea.

- Bloggers with Daniella and Armando
We were given a tour in the whole EcoModa set, from Betty’s desk, to Armando’s. After our tour, Betty La Fea’s members Thou Reyes (Hugo) and Wendy Valdez (Patricia) joined us for a fun chat and some photos. They are so humble, very cool and not too mention very funny. They joined us for lunch. Thanks to Bacolod Chicken Inasal for a very special lunch.
In the middle of our lunch, John Lloyd arrived. He only passed by just to meet us. Isn’t that sweet? We had a small chit-chat. We learned that John Lloyd is still clueless about email, chats, blogs, and the like. So we gave him an idea about blogging. Also, John Lloyd confirmed that those John Lloyd’s account in Social Networking site of are fake.
