For those who have been to Singapore and crave for their authentic Cantonese cuisine, Crystal Jade Dining IN Singapore has launched its first branch in the Philippines at Bonifacio Global City. Crystal Jade Dining IN is a fine dining restaurant from Singapore that offers traditional Chinese cuisines with a touch of modern culinary culture. Crystal Jade Dining IN is a higher end version of the other popular Crystal Jade Restaurant in V-Mall, the one famous for the “soupy siomai”, also known as Xiao Long Bao. Actually, even well-known Filipino celebrities who also love to cook, like Ms. Judy Ann Santos and Kris Aquino, have tried and liked Crsytal Jade Dining IN.
Anyway, on my first visit to Crystal Jade Dining IN, I have tried Avocado shake for my drinks and mind you, it’s really made from fresh avocado. It’s simply refreshing and not too sweet.
For the appetizer, we ordered Steamed Radish Cake with Egg White and Chinese Wine. Honestly at first, I was hesitant to try the radish cake since it’s a common knowledge that radish has that distinct smell, but then when I tried it, I was wrong and in fact it’s really delicious. By the way, Crystal Jade Dining IN’s Radish Cake is steamed, unlike other radish cakes that’s stir fried.
Steamed Radish Cake with Egg White & Chinese Wine
Besides the traditional way of steamed shredded radish with flour, egg white and Chinese wine are added to achieve the smooth texture and fragrance.
In addition, we also had Baked Lo BBQ Pork Bun and Crispy Duck Sandwich and the Doubled-boiled Crab Claw Soup with Superior Mushroom in Fresh Coconut. I was really surprised how mouth-tasting the soup is! I can really describe it as the “perfect soup”! It’s called double-boiled because at first the soup will be put into a boil together with its ingredients, then the boiled soup will be placed in a fresh coconut and it will be boiled again.

A combination of East meets West where oriental style BBQ pork as the filling of western bun baking top with Hong ong style bo lo crust.
Crispy Duck Sandwich
Layer of crispy duck skin, duck meat, cucumber, tomato, and bean curd skin make the perfect appetizer for crunchiness.

Ingredients of crab claw, mushrooms, Chinese cabbage are added into the whole coconut together with the superior soup for hour of double boiled process.
The Crystal Jade Dining IN experience will not be complete without tasting their Braised Pork with Special Sauce with buns, Sauteed Scallop and Prawn with Chicken and Assorted Mushroom served in pumpkin (this is actually one of my favorites) and of course rice. Take note, it’s not just any ordinary rice it’s a Fried Assorted Grain Rice in Hot Stone Bowl. Just by the name of the rice, I bet you can tell that it’s “something”. Actually, it is. It is very tasty maybe because of the sweet corn, mushrooms and veggies plus egg and pine nut that goes with the rice.

Selected pork belly with the perfect portion of lean meat and fat is marinated for hours before braised with straw and the rich gravy.

Fried Assorted Grain Rice in Hot Stone Bowl
White rice and brown grin rice stir fried together with sweet corn, diced mushroom and vegetable, egg & pine nut in oriental style and served in hot stone bowl as fried rice is best served hot.
Finally, for the dessert, again I had another Avocado, this time it’s a Chilled Avocado Pudding and Pomelo. I also tried the glutinous rice dumpling with taro.
Chilled Avocado & Pomelo
Avocado pudding topped with fresh mango cream and pomelo
Glutinous Rice Dumpling with Taro
Chewy and sticky glutinous rice dumpling with taro bites filling
For all the food we had tried and tasted, I can truly say that Crystal Jade Dining IN Singapore has really all the rights to bring their traditional and authentic Cantonese cuisine here in the country and let Filipinos experience a one-of-a-kind fine dining experience.
I just want to mention that unlike other fine dining restaurants that I have tried, I was expecting this one to be equally expensive, but I was really surprised that each order of what we had only ranges from Php200 to Php700 only. And they also have private areas for those who prefer to hold business meetings or the like.
