So, if you have the guts and the skills to be hailed as one of the futures’ teen Azkals, then do the try out in the following schedules in first selected places:

When: August 4-12, 2012
It was indeed a great experience last Saturday night, where selected social media bloggers met the people behind the success of the present Azkals at OneA Events Place, Antipolo and at the same time were the speakers of the event. They were Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Technical Director Coach Aris Caslib, PFF Marketing and Communications Department Head/member of the National Team committee Ebong Jocson, Motorcycle Philippines Federation President Atoy Sta. Cruz and Alvin Carranza of OneA Event Center in Sumulong Highway who happens to be the team manager of Teen Azkals U17-19 (under 17 and 19 years old) and the one who organized as well the event.
They have discussed to us about their current and upcoming plans in getting the best future players in the country and the following are ones being tackled:
- In the grassroots level, quality grassroots experts are needed in all the 33 provincial football associations to ensure the football activities are continuous with the combination of training, mind- setting, practice, competitions and festivals for the kids in order for them to be to be competitive in the future.
- Coaches must also maintain those developments in order for them to produce good quality players and to teach more aspiring athletes in the more coming years.(Coach Caslib told us too that the first batch of Filipinos took the AFC A-license level training and resulted to 7 potential new A-licensed coaches in the country. And one of them is a Filipina, who is the first one to pass, ahead of the Filipino Coaches on her batch.)As Atty. Rolando Tulay General Secretary- PFF says, quality coaches produce quality athletes. Thus, having great coaches give honor to our country and of course, to them as well.
- As early as six years old, involving kids of all genders to competitions from club level to age group competitions are needed in order to raise future champions which gives reverence and fame to our country.
They are looking forward in having at least 3 groups of Teen Azkals which will come from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. These three groups will comprise a pool of talents wherein Philippine Football Federation (PFF) can select from for intensive training, local and foreign competitions.
Coach Cleng Cacacho of International School believes in initiating them while they are still young. He also added that for us to sustain the success, national youth teams must be developed further and exposed to competitions domestically and internationally. Partnerships with people who believe in the game, is an important ingredient of the program. Elite coaches must be further developed by assessment and continuing education.
With that, if this program will be well-supported and accordingly, for sure they will stand strong along the way and will not just make our country famous in sports, but of course will endeavor us help to be known in the world as talented in our own ways.
I believe, this advocacy will not just build strong relationship between sports and the athletes but this will give hope to the ones who believe in this field as well. And of course, this will raise our country’s name with pride and dignity!
So, if you know someone or even you, yourself wanted to be part of Teen Azkals don’t hesitate to try out!
