I discovered Chikka when I was still in college and I’ve been a constant user of it. What really made me interested in using Chikka’s service is that I can send and receive text messages for free! Who does not want something for free?!
Anyway, we were invited to an event where Chikka released their latest version after ten years in the business (Chikka first released their beta version on 2000). According to them, this new version is more powerful and useful to users as compared to their previous version. Chikka founder Dennis Mendiola also mentioned that Chikka’s latest version is combined with “the cool convenience of sending an IM message when one is on-line”.
In addition, the new Chikka version features P1.00 replies during off-peak hours when a lot of Global Filipinos are driving message traffic to friends and loved ones mobiles in the Philippines. Unlimited text packages are also available for consumers who spend most of their time sending IM’s or text messages. Another feature of this new Chikka Text Messenger is that it is also interoperable with Google Talk. Furthermore, Chikka is continuously finding ways to better serve their consumers by working on partnering with other instant messaging applications to make it easier for users to keep in touch.
Hmmm, with this new releases coupled with better and user-friendly features, there is only one clear scenario here: Users or consumers are always on the winning end.
