American Idol has finally released its schedule for the first 2 months of the 2010 season with just weeks left until its premiere.

Yes, American Idol will be back with its new season. However, for Season 9, Paula Abdul will be replaced by Ellen DeGeneres. Emmy Award-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has joined American Idol as the new fourth judge sitting alongside Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi.

The ninth season of American Idol premieres on the 12th of January 2010. Ellen DeGeneres will join the judges’ pannel after the auditions, which will feature appearances by guest judges Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Shania Twain.
