Tuesday night’s (May 19, 2009) “American Idol” finale will have season 8 top 2 finalists Kris Allen and Adam Lambert perform for the chance to become the next American Idol.
Also, Season 4 American Idol winner, four-time Grammy winner, and 2009 ACM Entertainer of the Year Carrie Underwood will return to the Idol to perform this year’s farewell song, “Home Sweet Home,” live.
On May 20, 2009, don’t miss the 2-Hour Season Finale Event to see who will win the American Idol Season 8 winner.
Predictions:
Some say Kris Allen is the winner of American Idol 2009. Though Kris Allen doesn’t stand out like Adam Lambert, he is still is an incredibly talented artist. Adam Lambert (for sure) will get a recording contract for his talent and popularity. So, Kris Allen needs the title for the Americal Idol Season 8.
Meanwhile, most of my friends predicts that Adam Lambert is the winner of Americal Idol 2009. Even Simon Cowell gave his prediction that Adam Lambert will win American Idol Season 8. There are rumors that Adam Lambert will be performing with David Bowie.
MTV also made a week-by-week conparison. And according to them:
Kris Allen won five weeks, while Adam Lambert won five and a half weeks (the half point given to Adam’s never-ending Rat Pack note). It’s anyone’s “Idol” crown this season, and it really boils down to the finish line. (Ryan Seacrest said himself during last week’s results show that only a million votes separated Kris and Adam.)
But which will come out on top?
UPDATED: May 19, 2009
Ryan Seacrest: We are one night away in crowning the winner…
American Idol Finale May 19 kicked off with the Final 2’s personal favorites.
For the first set, Adam Lambert sang MAD WORLD by Tears for Fears.
Adam Lambert “Mad World” Judges Comments:
Randy: We’re down to the wire.. I liked the performance (Randy gave an A+ to Adam)
Kara: You’re an incredible artist… I’m happy he chose that song again you rocked it again tonight.
Paula: Unbelievably proud I am that you’re standing on that stage tonight. It’s unbelievable. Baskin it. This is your moment. I love how you perform. But right now you gave the theatrical of what we would be able to see.
Simon: The coat is a bit more overly theatrical
While Kris went on to perform a Bill Withers original “Ain’t No Sunshine”.
Kris Allen “Ain’t No Sunshine” Judges Comments:
Randy: I can tell exactly what kind of artist you really are. You saved the best for last. That is your best performance ever on the stage.
Kara: I agree with Randy. If you can’t feel of Kris Allen’s performance and he doesn’t move you, there’s something wrong with you. You have a way to have intimate bond with everybody in the audience. You make us feel that you’re singing it with us.
Paula: You have a unique way of Allenizing, your trademark, your songs
Simon: When your name was announced last week, I wasn’t sure America voted right. But I absolutely take it all back after that performance.
Simon declared that Kris won Round 1 American Idol Finale May 19 (5/19/09)
After Round 1, will Adam be able to bounce back?
For round 2, the top 2 Americal Idol Season 8 performed the songs chosen by the American idol producer Simon Fuller.
Adam sang “A Change is Gonna Come” by Sam Cooke
Adam Lambert “A Change is Gonna Come” Judges Comments:

Kara: A great combination of high notes and emotion…using both sided of yourself
Paula: The best that I’ve heard.. I know you will be iconic!
Simon: All I can say is that you’re 100 percent back in the game
Kris Allen “What’s Going On” Judges Comments:
Randy: That’s a great song choice. You sang great… but it’s a little bit light.
Kara: It’s a socially-conscious song for you. You’re the kind of artist that can deliver that message, uplift people, make them feel and make that change.
Paula: You made Marvin Gaye proud
Simon: It’s like 3 friends in a bedroom strumming along to a Marvin Gaye. You did not grab hold of the song.
Simon declared that Adam Lambert won Round 2 “a million percent”!
Round 3: The American Idol Season 8 Winner’s Song “No Boundaries” is co-written by Kara DioGuardi, Cathy Dennis and Mitch Allen
Adam Lambert “No Boundaries” Judges’ comments:
Randy: I love it.. Dude, you can sing anything, but it is not one of my favorites, a little pitchy in some spots!

Paula: I’m very proud. what you brought was remarkable. You can sing whatever wanna you sing and I will be a fan forever front in line.
Simon: I’m not going to judge the song.. I’m gonna judge you. Over the entire season, you’re have been one of the best most original contestant!
Kris Allen “No Boundaries” Judges’ Comments:
Randy: You’re an amazing competitor. That song fit your voice.
Kara: I congratulate you.. I don’t want you to be judged on that song…you’ve been incredible to watch week after week…I hope people vote on the season
Paula: You did an amazing job to end up where you are.
Simon: You came in.. first audition – no confidence. I think the first song was your highlight…watching you tonight has been incredible…you have thoroughly deserved to be standing on this stage tonight, congratulations.
