Who would have thought the day would come when not only cell phones but also cars would come with chargers?
As its initial offering, Filipino company EVnnovations will be introducing one of the country’s first mass market electric cars, the REVAi. This compact 2-seater hatch will be unveiled during the 5th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) set to be held at the World Trade Center from April 2-5.
EVnnovaaions believes that it’s time for the Philippines to look to alternative mobility solutions – the electric car being one of them. “These will offer a cheaper fuel alternative to drivers while creating a positive impact in the city’s air quality.”
Ecological and Economical Mobility
The REVAi Electric Car is powered by eight 6-volt lead-acid batteries and can reach a top speed of 80kph. Karl Magsuci, the business planning and development manager of EVnnovations notes that to charge the batteries, one simply has to plug the car into any 15-amp 220V outlet – the same way that mobile phones are charged. It only takes 8 hours to fully charge the REVAi and doing so will allow the car to travel a maximum of 80 kilometers — more than sufficient for the average distance traveled daily by city dwellers.
“Electric vehicles can be both an economical and ecological mobility solution for the modern Filipino,” says Magsuci. “They run on electricity, which is a readily available and relatively cheap energy resource. And more importantly, they do not emit harmful carbon gases.”
Passenger Safety and Comfort
Despite its compact size, the REVAi gives utmost consideration to the safety of its passengers. It’s equipped with dent-proof ABS body panels, steel-space frame with side impact beams, driver & passenger seatbelts, and front hydraulic disc brakes. All of these combine to make the REVAi a very safe electric city car for urban commuters.
Creature-comfort features also abound its cabin. Available options such as an air conditioning system, CD MP3 player, leather-wrapped seats & steering wheel and a central locking system make for a very comfortable city drive.
“The REVAi is just the first of many other types of electric-powered mobility products that EVnnovations will be introducing to the local market,” notes Magsuci. We’re committed to providing the discerning consumer with both ecologically and economically sustainable modes of transportation. And Filipinos can rely on EVnnovations to deliver on this promise.”
