RP tops ticket booking sales in France

FRANCE — The Philippines is the no. 1 Asia Pacific destination in terms of sold airline tickets by all airlines, the Department of Tourism (DOT) office here reported. RP recorded a 60% growth rate in terms of tickets issued by all airlines in almost all French travel agencies from January to February 2009, compared with figures in 2008.

Anne Curtis plays a ‘goodie good girl’ in May Bukas Pa!
Before leaving for Europe for a vacation with her friends, Anne Curtis takes her turn to warm the viewers hearts through May Bukas Pa as she plays the role of a ‘goodie good girl’ in the said top rating series on ABS-CBN. This will be her last TV appearance before she leaves.
The ‘Dyosa’ that we all know shared, “Pa-sweet ang role ko dito. I’ll be portraying Carla, isang girl na sobrang masunurin, matalino kaya favorite ako ng dad ko, to the point na di na gaano napapansin ng dad ko yung kapatid ko. How I came across Santino is what the people should all watch out for.”
When asked how her first scene with Santino went, Anne enthusiastically expressed, “Sobrang cute talaga! I love his eyes. Yung mga little nuances niya during the taping makes him so adorable. Magaling umarte ang bata. I’m impressed.”
Anne did not think twice when she was offered to appear in May Bukas Pa. “Na-excite talaga ako. Who wouldn’t like that offer di ba? Kaya grab na syempre,” Anne enthused.
PHILIPPINE TOURISM: CREATING EMPLOYMENT WITH EXPANDED INVESTMENTS AND INCREASED TRAVEL MOVEMENT
Room capacity in key tourist destinations for the first quarter of 2009 expanded with the opening of new hotels and resorts that created additional employment in the midst of global economic downturn.
For the period January to March 2009, a total of 1,231 additional rooms were opened. With an aggregate cost of P8.016 Billion, these new investments directly employed 1,286 people.
The opening of the P3.18 Billion Imperial Palace Water Park, Resort and Spa increased the room supply in Cebu by 4% to 14,792. With 616 rooms, this new tourism project provided employment to 780 workers.
The San Remigio Beach Club in the northern part of Cebu has also opened its new facilities during the first quarter. With P8.5 Million in investments, the resort has built a convention facility to capture the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) of both international and domestic markets. BGC Vision Digital Open
The BGC Vision Digital Open is a contest for photography and short films, hosted by Bonifacio Global City with the theme: Passion at the Bonifacio Global City. Each entry must use at least one (1) location, service or individual from each BGC characteristic in their video. P100,000 in prizes are at stake! Registration and submission of entries will be from APRIL 18, 2009 (Monday) to MAY 18, 2009 (Monday), 9am-5pm.
This contest is open to all non-professionals, students and non-students.
GENERAL MECHANICS
1. There will be two categories for the competition, namely the Video Open and the Digital Digital Photo Competition.
2. An entrant may join one or more categories and may submit as many entries for each category.
3. The BGC (Bonifacio Global City) VISION Organizing Committee shall not be liable for any controversy regarding the sharing of awards among the members of the group.
4. Finalists will be informed via email and through the website.
5. Entries selected for the finals cannot be withdrawn from the competition.
6. BGC VISION Organizing Committee will retain ownership of all copies of submitted. It is the entrants’ responsibility to keep the original copy of the work. These entries will also be considered Bonifacio Global City (BGC) property once submitted as stipulated in the application form.
7. BGC VISION Organizing Commitee will also have the right to exhibit the entry in subsequent VISION and Bonifacio Global City related events as well as use the entries in other vehicles as BGC sees fit.
8. Any entry not following the rules, regulations and mechanics WILL BE disqualified.
9. The VISION Organizing Committee assumes that all entries submitted are original works and are developed solely for this competition.

The Pussycat Dolls will come to Manila for the second time this June!
Clear Anti-dandruff shampoo and MTV Philippines will present A Clear Doll Domination: The Pussycat Dolls Live in Manila on June 11 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds.
In 1995, the Pussycat Dolls started out as an all-female burlesque flavored revue that gave young Hollywood starlets a chance to be in pin-up costumes dancing to ’50s pop standards. Ten years after, the group morphed into full-fledged pop icons that everyone wants to be. Its most prominent and most popular member is Nicole Scherzinger who is half-Filipino.
